This has really got to piss off all the Warriors fans whose team has invested the years so far into this project only to likely see him develop into a real contributor for another team.

Nellie was in love with him in the first training camp and said he didn't improve one bit after that. Hes got skills and size, just doesn't really have much drive. I'll post more about him once I'm done watching the Warriors summer league opener.
Assuming its a small contract, its a worthwhile gamble. Maybe you can develop into a solid player; maybe not. But he was a lottery pick at one time, which suggests someone at one point thought he was a good prospect at that particular point. Worse case scenario, he is 12th man caliber and can give you 6 fouls.

That being said, I wish the W's would have kept him, he's got no motor but looked like he could eventually become a decent defensive center if he wanted too. Although, he'd rather become a chef than a basketball player so I doubt he really wants to work at it.
Some more info via Janny Hu: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'># Just ran into Patrick O'Bryant, who will officially be an ex-Warrior at any moment. The free agent center -- whom the Warriors draft with the ninth pick in 2006 -- is signing with the Boston Celtics. (I believe it's one year guaranteed, team option for the second year).</div> http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warrio...;entry_id=28097 My break down of POB: Long as hell. Hes got some of the longest arms in the league and looks even longer on his legit 7'0 frame. Decent athlete for his size. Has pretty good hands. Nice touch around the rim. Hes got a sick sky hook right now, which is hard to believe but it actually goes in most of the time even out to like 12 feet. Doesn't really have any other post moves though. Has a shaky jumpshot out to about 16-18 feet. Not very strong and gets pushed around in the paint. Rebounding instincts aren't very good. Not a very good defender. Has some presence in the paint with his long arms and blocks shots decently but not really much of an impediment for veteran players who are more intelligent and experienced. Very laid back- probably to a fault because he has a reputation for having little drive and not being interested in basketball. Nellie hates him, I think even more than he hated Diogu, which probably isn't good. Hes still very young though so hes still got a good chance to become a serviceable player if hes in the right situation.

The kid has talent and he is definately better than Pollard whoever said that. Nelly just didn't find a way to get his game in mesh with JAX/BARON/AL He definately can give Perkins a breather and take some space up in the paint
