i would like to go on record here saying I hope the nets never get Labaron James! I am so sick and tired of hearing about this pipe dream. I would rather see Thorn rebuild the right way like he is. I would like to see the continuing development of Lopez, Anderson, and CDR, who i believe will turn out to be decent starting pros for the nets. I would like to see Thorn continue to dump worthless contracts like KVH, and Swift, and Haskell, and return another decent starting pro. I also would like to see the continuing draft good players like thorn continues to do. In the year 2010 I would like to see this team of home bred nets beat La Baron James, and then he will be labeled the biggest bust never to win the championship. This is what i'd like to see, not rest the future of a well respected franchise on some stupid pipe dream..... oh yeah, go nets!!!!

alot can happen in the next few years. LBJ can rip his knee apart, and lose his god given extra speed that makes him so special. He can become so rich that he loses his desire or edge that sets him apart. I think in 2 years the 3 draft picks will all be on this team and some of them will be allstars. I also think VC will be on this team and he will still have a large effect on the nets trying to win his first championship before he retires. The nets do have talent but they just need a few years. Oh yeah and they will still have Najera which i'm cool with.

Aside from that, it would take ages to become a contender if this team was being built on draft picks. I think you always need some experience on the roster to be successful. We can all agree on your last statement though

Also, there is more FA candidates than just Lebron. The era of homegrown talent died awhile ago. You teach a young guy and he end up leaving for bigger money.

We all saw summer league, and if the draft were today would rose and beasley be number one and two respectfully? No I think more teams might have drafted the number 10 pick overall in Brook Lopez. I believe he is the real deal. A seven foot one center at 260 with all his combined offensive skills comes along about every 20 years, and 9 foolish teams passed on him. Never in the draft has something like this ever happened. Probably because teams in the past 5 or 6 years have just drafted anybody that was 7 foot. Well he can walk and chew gum, and ..............he's seven foot tall! Well in Brooks case i think he is the real deal, and that goes for CDR and Anderson. These 3 players looked like ready made nba players in the summer league, as well when they played in college. Add to that you have Vince Carter. Still a super star in my opinion, and an very good point guard in Harris. You have role players in Hayes, Najera that will be around. You have another potential superstar in Yi who i believe with the right team circumstances can blossom into a star. Been compared to Dirk, with his size and moves. I also think thorn isn't done here and he will remove the garbage players and trade exemptions to get another proven Vet that will make the nets very competitive. I'm not sayen the nets are going to the finals this year but have a decent chance by 2010. Remember back in 2002, Jason Kidd came here and said hey these kids are great, better talent than i had in Phoneix. Well he was right and the nets went to the finals. I see similar similarities here and the year 2002. The nets are rebuilding the right way, and thorn isn't done yet. If LBJ was so great why he's never been to the finals yet?? And in my opinion cleveland has been doing everything to put quality players around him. And , so far he has the same mentality as Kobe. Well its up to me to win this game. I don't want the nets to turn into that, I don't want the nets to turn into the Yankees, well if we don't win this year, just buy the best players. I want to see this team do it right, and thorn has chosen the right path in my opinion.. Oh yeah, go nets!!!

Its not always about money, take Brand for example he could have gotten more from the clippers, but he chose to leave the loser organization. Really only Kmart left the nets and his career turned out terrible once he left the confines of Jason Kidd, but returned the nets after all the dust settled VC.
