I am so sick and tired of hearing about this pipe dream. I would rather see Thorn rebuild the right way like he is. I would like to see the continuing development of Lopez, Anderson, and CDR, who i believe will turn out to be decent starting pros for the nets. I would like to see Thorn continue to dump worthless contracts like KVH, and Swift, and Haskell, and return another decent starting pro. I also would like to see the continuing draft good players like thorn continues to do. In the year 2010 I would like to see this team of home bred nets beat La Baron James, and then he will be labeled the biggest bust never to win the championship. This is what i'd like to see, not rest the future of a well respected franchise on some stupid pipe dream..... oh yeah, go nets!!!!</div> The Boston Celtics, the team with the most tradition in the NBA just won the championship this year via free agency. Also, there is more FA candidates than just Lebron. The era of homegrown talent died awhile ago. You teach a young guy and he end up leaving for bigger money. </div> Not always, look at RJ for example he would have stayed if he could. Same could apply for LBJ. Its not always about money, take Brand for example he could have gotten more from the clippers, but he chose to leave the loser organization. Really only Kmart left the nets and his career turned out terrible once he left the confines of Jason Kidd, but returned the nets after all the dust settled VC. </div> RJ was traded. He no say in if he was staying with the Nets. That situation has zero in common with adding a free agent.

I agree with most of the posts in this thread: (1) Brook will turn out to be a pretty special player, although not a superstar. There's no way that he should have been a top-three pick, though. He could turn out to be one of the top seven or eight players in the draft, though, and that is good enough for me. (2) I think each of the Nets' picks will turn out to be significant contributors. I really like what I saw from Ryan Anderson, and CDR's main talent is just that he's a winner. (3) regardless, you need a superstar or three to win the championship, and those guys don't qualify. (4) I hate LeBron James and am not looking forward to seeing him a Net. He could still grow up between now and then, though. (5) I have no idea how well they are going to play next year. The Nets will score more than anyone expects, and will be able (and willing) to get up and down the floor but who knows if those guys plus Yi will be able to play consistent defense, and be able to keep it up for a 90-game schedule (including training camp). That's a lot of games. (6) regardless, i think they'll be fun to watch.

The way he treats his teammates while on the court is atrocious. Being a bully does not make one a leader. Unless he grows up, or someone is willing to stand up to him, he'll ever be a winner.

LOL @ teams would take Brook Lopez over Beasley and Rose right now after 5 summer league games. This board gets more ridiculous by the day.
