WTF ESPN TRADE Machine and ShamSports have him listed 2 years 3.7 per we gotta pay that? does it count towards cap? hows it work
A player can't be signed and traded (like KVH was) unless they have at least a 3 year deal. Now the way around that is to only have the first year guaranteed. The beauty of KVH's contract is that he can be trade and his salary can count in the trade math, but as soon as the trade is completed, KVH's contract can be bought out for a very cheap price. So yes, technically his contract is on the Nets cap for that amount, but KVH will never get that full amount from the Nets or any other team.

If the Nets involved KVH in a deal with Denver, they could send a car out to his house to pick him up. I assume KVH's deal mirrors that of David Wesley's from last year. Wesley announced he was retiring but never put his retirement papers in. He has $1.75 million contract with a $250,000 buyout. So the Nets traded Ilic and Robinson and cash considerations to the Hornets for Wesley just before the season began. As soon as all three passed their physicals, they were released. It was the second time Wesley's contract had been traded. He had gone from the Cavs to the Hornets in return for Cedric Simmons.
I don't remember his trade number, but I think it was something like $4.7M. The buyout is maybe $300K? (Sorry if I'm off. Can't look it up from here.) I also think he has to be traded before Oct. 1.

One involved the TE and a player. Then JKidd was bundled with others, and traded a group of players. -Petey

Anything else we could use the exception for? I thought we could use it to sign a player, but I'm not sure, because I barely know anything about TE's.
