I watched a re-run this week in which a deckhand fell into the Bering Sea....when they finally got him out, just a few minutes later, he was already suffering from hypothermia and unconscious....the coast guard airlifted him right off the boat and took him to the hospital, but they couldnt revive him....when told later that he didnt make it, i watched one of the toughest SOBs on the sea cry his eyes out....the danger is not the focus of the show, but it does show up from time to time....lots of injuries, and a few deaths....but as those guys say, $30k in 5 days with no education? you cant beat it....

I gotta say though, that the women do not have the ball handling skills like the guys do. I wonder why?
Oh, I almost forgot. There is a new sport that is sweeping the nation. I have recently attended a modern day roller derby. It's not the kind that they were showing in the 70's. In the 70's, the whole thing was staged and scripted. The new leagues that are forming are all real, all competitive. You may find one in a major city near you. I highly recommend it, as it's not expensive, they serve reasonably priced drinks, and you get to watch chicks battle it out. <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/L1uVC0VlqwY&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/L1uVC0VlqwY&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div> <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xUy5Y6s498c&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xUy5Y6s498c&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div> <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/20obxL2Fc0Y&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/20obxL2Fc0Y&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>

This is what you guys call the abyss? I really only watch the NBA, NCAA basketball/football, and the NHL, so any time when those four aren't on, I'm experiencing the abyss. I don't get how people can watch baseball. I'd rather take a nap. Which is convenient, because it puts me to sleep. I just can't explain how painful Sportscenter is for me when it's made up of 10 baseball highlights, a few segments of MLB analysis, a report on Brett Favre, and a bunch of nonsense about golf. I'm pretty much robbed of my real Sportscenter all summer. Beef, ever watch Ice Road Truckers?
Major league Soccer baby! Ahh, I can't say that with a straight face. I watched Canada get their asses handed to them this morning. I've also seen Miss America fall about 1000000 times.
