I just posted this in the RTT but it's probably worth its own thread. Did any of you guys catch Jay-Z's Glastonbury performance? He was the first ever hip hop headliner at Glastonbury (traditionally rock music), and he stole the show, despite widespread criticism for his selection. Here's a youtube of it, and the reason he parodies Wonderwall is that Noel Gallagher of Oasis was outspoken against the choice of him to headline it. <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrDIOVXx-y8&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mrDIOVXx-y8&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>
Huge moment for hip-hop! Jay did his thing. Oh, and to hell with Noel Gallagher, that dude has no artistic merit to speak like that. His music is godawful.
The only Oasis song I like is, ironically, Wonderwall but I hate the Gallagher brothers. Dirty chavs. I was really impressed with Jay-Z, though. I knew I would like the performance as I've always liked his music, but I wasn't sure how it would go down at Glastonbury with a crowd full of rockers.
