<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Lamar Odom has been frequently mentioned in Lakers trade speculation and Dwyane Wade acknowledged there still are times he thinks about his former Heat teammate. "I love L.O. as a person and, of course, as a player," Wade said. "We had one year together. I wish we could have had more. "It's a guy who I've always said it's a possibility when he left that he can maybe come back. ... A player like that, we would love to have a chance to get because he's so versatile."</div> Source You know us Laker fans, let's over-analyze this comment and turn it into a Marion for Odom swap! Pipe: Marion to the Kings, Artest to the Lakers, Odom to the Heat! Get it done, Mitch!
I think Miami would definitely like a Marion, Odom swap. And Marion would fit in well with a lineup of Fisher, Kobe, Marion, Pau, Bynum. However I actually think the Lakers would lose out on the trade if they did it. Marion doesn`t create much on his own and isn`t as effective guarding big PFs as Odom is. My guess also is that although I`d consider Odom more valuable, Marion is a better dunker and popular, and has made the allstar team. I think Marion will demand more money and is older. A 3 way trade with the Kings, well some players would have to be added as well, because Marion makes 17 mill, Artest makes 8.5, and Odom makes 14.5.
If I were Miami, I would jump on this chance. With a guy like Marion and his defense, that would improve the Lakers quite a bit IMO.
I like Brian's pipe dream, and I think it can become a reality. Also, there's news that Miami is also interested in Artest. Doubt Artest is interested in Miami though, he probably wants a championship caliber team. And don't tell me with Michael Beasley they are playoff bound (cuz they're not).
3 way with the Heat and Kings sound good LA gets Artest Sacramento gets Marion Miami gets Odom Obviously tweeks will have to be made because of contracts, but it's an interesting possibility to think about.
