Well, all you have to do is pull of a sick out of nowhere submission like this! see how easy that was
Of course, if you DON'T get that submission locked in quick.. this is what can happen Or this got that?

I remember someone commenting on that move and how it's pretty rare. Well executed though. I've never seen it in a UFC fight and it reminds me of Serra's student Dan Simmler tried a flying armbar on Matt Riddle.
I'd definitely call it a one in a million shot. That's Silva's only legit loss in the last 4 years!! His other loss was a DQ to Yushin Okami when they fought for Rumble on the Rock and he kick Okami in the head while he was down, which is legal in Pride, but not in Hawaii. Okami was unable to continue after the illegal blow. Silva is still miffed because he insists the rules were not properly explained to him.
Chonan's flying scissor heel hook is an incredible technique, probably impossible to recreate in a real fight. But it belies the fact that Chonan stood toe-to-toe with Silva and was in top position for the majority of that fight leading into the third round, and was winning on points. Silva has improved a ton since that fight and I doubt Chonan would last a round with him now. To beat him I think you have to reduce his mobility, either by pinning him on the mat or against the cage, or by chopping at his legs and ribs. When he is dancing around he is practically invincible. Dan Henderson did a great job against Silva in the first round of their fight. He wasn't able to do damage but he wore on him. Somebody that stays active in top position like GSP, Thiago Silva, or Couture could hurt him.
If Henderson didn't get ballsy and try to stand with him in round 2, he might have had a formula for success against Silva.

I'm a nice striker but I've got few ground moves. I don't feel like learning anything else either, whatever.
Well Travis Lutter was doing decent against Silva up until he was submitted by Triangle. Lutter is a wrestler, maybe a Josh Koshchek-esque fighter could do it?
A top notch wrestler who can get Silva down and keep him there with some GnP could do it. That's why GSP would stand a chance, he's the best wrestler at 170 and he's a big 170. It's also why I think Silva would have issues at 205. Someone Like Rashad Evans could get him and hold him down too. No one is going to outstrike Silva, only a buster douglas shot could beat him and a rematch would prove the fluke.
Something I forgot to mention is that the guy to beat him needs to push forward and come out firing. You can't give Spiderman a chance to size you up, as he does in most of his fights in the first round.
