OK, here's something I was thinking about on the way home today that I hadn't heard anyone else talk about. On the Radio, people are going on about how how the Packers drafted Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn and thus someone is gonna get cut if Favre comes back. And you've got people worrying about paying Rogers next year. Well ok, but if Aaron Rogers is that great, why'd you draft those guys? Brohm was a guy people were talking about as the first pick in the draft at various points last year. Why not see what the market is for Rogers, play Favre for a year, and groom Brohm?

You just said he was being considered for the 1st overall pick just last year and the Packers got him in round 2. That's why.
I'll reiterate that I think Rodgers should leave after his contract his up. Rumor was awhile back that Ted T & co might sign Daunte. I know they brought him in for a visit.

That gives a year to get Brohm up and running. Well, he's not that quick, but you know what I mean.
Favre is probably better than Rodgers for next year.... But you don't get rid of Rodgers. They had him as a 1st round talent. They like him. You don't want to trade away a guy you thought highly enough of to be your future starter without first seeing what you can do. And while Brohm is a nice prospect, he hasn't proven anything yet (not that Rodgers has either, mind you). But Rodgers was their guy; is their guy; and you don't trade away that until you know that 1. Rodgers cannot be a starting QB 2. Brohm can be a starting QB Since neither are known; you keep both Brohm and Rodgers for the time being. If Rodgers proves he is a starting QB, you keep him and decide what to do with Brohm later.

Well, he's not that quick, but you know what I mean. </div> Well Favre is probably the safer choice because he's Brett Favre but if the Packers believe firmly that Rodgers is going to be a great QB then it might be time to move on with Rodgers. The team is built for life without Favre and it looks like that time has arrived. Before all this drama created by Favre and the Packers, Rodgers has been the talk of the off season. Everything he's done has been great and from every report I've read, Rodgers has looked a lot better than Brian Brohm. I remember the improvement he's shown year in and year out. As a rookie he was awful. In his 2nd year he flashed but still showed he had aways to go. Last year he was unbelievable from all accounts. I hate to bring up pre season because I think it's kind of ridiculous but everything Rodgers did against Dallas, he did in pre season that year.
