Ouch. Some memories are just far too painful.

Legacy, are you a Giants fan? Being a Warriors fan I would have assumed you would be an A's fan.

Nah, I'm a Giants fan. I like a lot of the Bay Area teams though. Plus, the A's are moving to the city I live in, in a few years.

Hey, did you know this was the last All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium?

You would think FOX would have mentioned that during the broadcast.

I've been hearing a lot of complaining today about the All-Star game needing to be fixed so that the players don't injure or wear themselves down by pitching too much, etc. What does everyone think about that?

Personally, all of the solutions I've heard make sense (from setting a limit on the innings to adding more pitchers to the rosters), but I don't see why it needs fixing. So what if a player gets hurt? This game should be treated just like a real game if the MLB is going to try to make it actually significant to the season.

It just seems like these analysts who support the game having significance are being extremely hypocritical by calling for a change because of potential injuries. The MLB's regular season is way too long for anyone to make that complaint about one actually significant game.

Id like to see a group of maybe 3 starters that are All Star Alternates, they show up, they are dressed, but they cant come in unless the game is in extras and all other pitchers have been exausted....how close were we to having a position player pitch last night?

David Wright would have piched the 16th inning for the NL.

If the game counts they should just play it like a real game. That means leave the starters in there and only replace fan mistakes like Fukudome. Pitchers who started Sunday should not be on the active roster. Expanding the pitching staffs would be fine.

Personally, I hate meaningless exhibitions, so I enjoy the game a lot more now. However, I would rather not care at all about it and have the team with the better record host the WS.

another thing you could do is start the break after saturday, take sunday off, HR derby on monday, take tursday off, game on wednesday, take thurday off, schedule resumes on friday....that way, no pitcher has less than 4 days rest and all these guy are prepared to go on less than that if needed....

I love Scott Kazmir, even though Andrew Friedman(Rays GM) said not to pitch only in emergency one inning, Terry Francona asked him as he was walking off and he said he would go out another time.

That pinch hit rbi double from Longoria to tie it was amazing, that ball was so far down there and almost impossible to hit and he sails it down the left field line for a ground rule double. He also said he got frustrated that he had 3 more chances to win the game and didnt come through, hopefully its not a bad omen for the season.

I have watched Navie a lot and he seemed a step slow last night, there was one ball tht could have been a hit for a decent runner but he must have ate a lot of donuts before the game.

And soccer is the best sport Denny. [IMG]</div>

Well to me, unless I'm watching Michael Jordan close to his prime (and some other stars like Kobe, etc.), the NFL is the most entertaining sport to watch and it's not that close.

I love various sports though I just put the NFL on another level. However, it still surprises me a MJ fan like Denny would have baseball as his favorite athletic game. Nothing wrong with that, it just surprised me. :[
    </div>

Over the years, every sport but Baseball has declined in appeal for me, tho basketball is still a great game for all the grace of the athletes.

The NFL has become too rehearsed, and one mistake early in the game means a touchdown and you end up facing 6 defensive backs the rest of the way. The basketball court is too small for the players today, and the basket is too low. Hockey turned into a game played between the blue lines.

The only negative about baseball is the steroids, but even then, it doesn't seem to help guys hit the ball in the first place, or make the bases seem too close together, or pitchers throw 150 MPH fastballs.
