Well, even though this is just the Summer league I must say I've been impressed with the play of Kevin Love. With his last two games (18/13 in game one) and a great game two (18pts, 17rbs, 4asst & 2 blks), just watching Love play I can say that it's making things a helluva lot easier to deal with the initial sting of dealing Mayo. Love seems to have an inate ability to just be where the ball is going to be on rebounds and the tenacity to go get it. With Love and Big Al inside and Miller and Foye roaming the wing and Brewer putting his defensive pressure on whoever....this looks to be a very bright future for Sota!!!! About damn time!!!
Minnesota has always been i team I'd love to follow, maybe to replace my loss for the Sonics in my life . If they become good, they will be awesome to watch.
I don't know about the level of players he's going up against, but those are some pretty solid numbers.
yeah, true, this is only summer league so stats can always be misleading. Although the numbers looks great...I'm looking at the way he plays more. And what I'm seeing is someone who has really good IQ and knows how to get in position to get rebounds. And he has great court vision as well...He's gonna be great to watch passing to Big Al or a wide open Miller. I'm also looking at the future in picks for Minnesota. With all thier picks they can either trade for a great player or if Love and Big Al develop into a bookend of 20/10 players then in the big free-agent year of 2010 I'm sure any big name PG would want to play with a team that would require that much interior attention. Guards would love to come and play there. And with all the cap room Sota will have they can certainly sweeten the pot with a large contract

I'm very impressed with love so far, and Brewer really picked up his game last night, shooting 7/10 from the field. Let's hope this translates to the real games.

I'm just really happy with the skills Love has showed with his rebounding and passing...I tried to watch the game as it was being played (3am in Kuwait...ugh) but streaming media gets serious lagg time here sometimes....
Should be interesting to see this season. I thought he'd be a edge of the lottery talent but he definitely surprised people at the draft camps, showing them that he has the athleticism to compete in the NBA. I love his versatility and ability to stretch the floor paired with Jefferson's low post play. What's the deal been with Corey Brewer? He was one of my favourite players that was drafted last season but I've heard little from him since then.

On occasion he showed some promise on the offensive end, but for the most part he looked pretty lost there and needs to improve a lot in that part of his game. I'm hoping this last performance from him is similar of things we'll see this season.
I'm excited for you guys too. In my opinion, he's playing a lot better in the Summer League than Mayo. I don't get why ESPN's putting stories about Mayo up every other night. It's like they're trying to force him down our throats. Watching him play though, he's giving us everything negative you'd expect out of him. He turns the ball over (4.8 tpg) more than he dishes is (2.6 apg), and with the offense flowing through him, he struggled to shoot above 40% (33-81 FG). I think that's how this season will go too. Mayo will average 14-18 ppg with the offense running through him and/or Gay, but he'll be having a lot of 5-17 FG and 8 turnover nights. Love will probably collect a few rebounds, score a few points, and be very efficient doing so in an offense where he's the third or fourth option.
Well, Love was at it again tonight...rolling out another steller performance with 26 points and 15 rebounds!!! 10 of those rebounds were offensive!!! not to mention he was 12-14 from the free-throw line. I'm seriously liking this guys game.
Did you watch it? He was a beat the entire night. I agree with you, his game is really impressing me.
I'm gonna check it out later, since it started at about 4-5 in the morning her in Kuwait...lol. But i would think he was a beast with 10 offensive rebounds....siiiiiick!!!
