Well Kuwait probably doesn't have much beer available, but still. So how long have you been dry for? I guess joining the army should replace Alcoholics Anonymous lol.

But I've kinda burned myself out drinking since I was stationed for three years in Germany....ahhhh....good times. I swear we went out clubbin and drinking 6 days a week...taking Thursdat to recoup...lol. But I'll be here at least through out the remainder of this year

I fuggin told you guys that the Love-Mayo trade was a steal- oh yeah also throw in Mike Miller. Brutal rapage by McHale. I knew from the minute I saw the combine numbers that Love would be at least a very solid NBA player. Hes just too smart and too skilled at only 19/20 years old not to succeed and the combine numbers let you at least know he was an adequate athlete by NBA standards. Still not gonna blow you away with his explosiveness but hes deceptively mobile and on par athletically with guys like David West, Kurt Thomas, etc. who aren't great athletes either but manage to be very effective NBA players. Love is looking like the MVP of LVSL.

Kevin Love is looking very impressive but I want to see him play against some tougher and bigger post players. Let's not forget that these summer league's favor guards and there is less competition amongst big men. But without a doubt Love has been the best player in this year's summer league and has a very bright future in Minnesota.

I'm looking at how well he gets himself into position and his passion for going after the boards. I was really looking at his skills on the offensive glass, which is where Minnesota needs him the most, and he's proving to be exceptional at that. His IQ is at a way higher level than the average 19-20 year old rookie. And let's face it....his outlook passes are a thing of beauty. He helps the team in so many ways and will take pressure off of and find his teammates on a regular basis

They needed (what I like to call) a "Sexy pick" someone to put butts in the seats and have the fanbase look towards a brighter future. Not a knock on Gay or Conley...but do they really raise as many eyebrows or rile up a crowd the way Mayo and his hype have and will continue to do? It's almost as if Memphis needed to get a marketable player and out of big three in the draft he is the most groomed for it!

Mayo won't fill the arena, but he'll put a lot more fans in the seats than Gasol, Miller, or Love ever could. You also have to consider Memphis' need for a marketable black athlete. Memphis may be the blackest major city in America (if not, it's gotta be top three), so the fact that the faces of the team have been Gasol, Miller, J. Williams, and Battier all of these years made the Miller/Love for Mayo swap even more necessary.

I dunno but my guess is Memphis would probably attract more fans with one of the numerous black NBA players who aren't turning the ball over 5 times a game.

But for some reason Mayo has this charisma that just makes people want to see him play. Some players have that "it" factor and with all the buzz throughout his childhood and the fact that he does happen to be a good developing young player with great potential as a bigtime scorer. With the likes of Baseball and the whole "chicks dig the longball", in basketball...fans dig the high-scorers. Mayo happens to do that with the flash that keep people watching. I'm in no way comparing him to Kobe or LeBron in the skills stand point, but he has a budding superstar personna that leads you to believe that if he has the ball in his hand something can happen that you don't want to miss. Although as of right now it seems as if that thing will be a turnover...lol...but it's also a flush in the grill of a 6'11" center or a 70' shot that people want to see. Sure it's been done before, but Mayo leads you to believe that it could happen anytime he has the ball.
has there been any word on what the Team USA guys have to say about the practice squad with Love, Mayo & Bayless? I just wanna know if the Big-Boys have anything to say about Love and Bayless since Kobe has already mentioned playing against Mayo
