Booyah. I'm interested to hear the terms of the deal - most importantly, the length. If they got Dooling for 7-8 mil over two years, that's fantastic.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Not everyone in New Jersey's front office is on board, apparently, which is why this has not gotten done sooner. But, the source says, coach Lawrence Frank really wants to see more defense on his roster, and he supports the Dooling move. That makes it more likely to happen.</div> This might be the first time the FO is actually listening to Frank in FA acquisitions.
I'm excited to see 16 guaranteed contracts on the roster. Get ready for some movers and shakers! Since we're looking at least a 2-for-1, I'm excited about upgrading, too.

I think it is going to be a 2-1 for 1 deal with the two Williams. KVH and Swift don't give to much value besides their contracts. I say try and work out something for a guy like Al Harrington

so excited about this (potential) deal. let's keep in mind, it's still not 100%. don't want to jinx it or anything. and I wonder...will he wear #5? hmm.

Holy crap. I love this signing now. Check out the amended terms of the deal: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>An eight-year veteran, Dooling would be acquired by making use of a $3.3 million trade exception the Nets obtained in the Jason Kidd deal last February. That will now be transferred to the Magic, who will prepare a two-year contract that calls for a $3.3 million salary next year and a $3.5 million salary for 2009-10, with a partially-guaranteed third season that will pay him a pittance.[</div> Source: Star Ledger, July 18th.
If the third year is a Team Option, this is a terrific signing. Although, one can't help but wonder how good this team would've been if they hadn't given away RJ. 18 Players with contracts now (including Van Horn). I wonder what moves will be made, but I'm betting they are all just give-aways Camby style i.e. Marcus Williams and/or Ager for the rights to swap 2nd round picks
