    Okie dokie.

I've lost all hope for Marcus. He just doesn't care and likely never will.

Marcus is a very good player, that needs motivation. And larry frank doesnt motivate players, he destroys em. Harris is good player, but i think some nets fans overratin' him too much. Marcus got the potential to be a better player than harris with the right coach. Like i said, ''quote me on that'' Ima bump this thread up in 2012 to rub in yall faces.

There is nothing in his resume that speaks to being a very good NBA player

Resume? What has this kid done in the league? If he were so impressive we wouldn't be having this discussion.

You should have seen the hype after he was drafted. There were some that were saying he'd be as good as Deron Williams</div>

Ha ha ha, who would have said such a thing? [IMG]

Oh.. Wait... I'll just walk quietly back to my hole. [IMG]

Anyway I've seen this picture somewhere a long time ago.

Marcus Williams is the epitome of the selfish me-first NBA youngster. At the same time, he is only 22. Athletes aren't the most intelligent of people and are surrounded by yes-men. I mean he was touted as the best pure point guard in the '06 draft. The kid is gifted and has probably never worked hard in his life at anything. He's now facing some major adversity and I'm interested in seeing how he responds. He's probably been told he's fat and out of shape a million times since he's arrived in the League. Probably not a huge confidence booster. I say give him a shot at the backup duties this year and see how if he proves something.

This is hilarious. It will be a miracle if he's still an NBA player in 2012.

Hey Kievitt welcome to S2! Send me a PM if you have any questions about the site.

I wouldn't worry too much about what Marcus Williams looks like, except for the non-Nets jersey he'll be wearing soon (by the looks of things) [IMG]

I still don't get the hatred many people on this forum have for Marcus seriously, his young and is playing the most difficult position in the league to play. His rookie season, he showed flashes and then he hit the rookie wall, his second season, he was hurt for untill december, lay off the guy and let him play one full season. Plus on his worst day off, his in better basketball shape than anyone in this forum.

you kind of hit on why we dislike him. im sure most of us play or did play all the time, but obviously none of us are as talented as marcus. the guy is blessed with some serious skill, but refuses to apply himself. most nba payers woudnt even have to be to told to get in shape, its a given. he had a hall of fame pg willing to show him the ropes and he still didnt care.

i think it was Spidermans uncle that said "wasted talent is a terrible thing"

Wasn't it "with great power comes great responsibility"?

Anyway, I'm hoping for Marcus to bounce back. He's a talented young player, and at this stage we could use him. If he doesn't pan out, I'm sure there's a team or two out there which will take a risk on him.
