<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If you measure the off-season from the last day of last season to the first day of next season, it’s half over. So far, the team has added eight new players (if you count Keyon Dooling) and lost two. That’s progress. In our 14th off-season report, we look at how Jason Kidd is still helping the Nets, what the prospects are for all those bigs, who the Nets considered taking on draft night and the next addition.</div>

I found it interesting that Brook has the same vertical as DeAndre. I was not aware of that until tonight.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Okay, let’s suppose Brook Lopez wasn’t there at #10, that Charlotte had taken him instead of D.J. Augustin (another reason to thank MJ)? Who would the Nets have taken? In a meeting with season ticket-holders, a key team official offered no hesitation. Jerryd Bayless of Arizona was the answer. In spite of his similarities to Harris, the Nets felt Bayless was the best player available and as one Net official put it, “at that level, you go for the best player.”

And what about #21? Was there another contender for the Nets’ affections there? Indeed, and surprise, it was Courtney Lee of Western Kentucky, not one of the lesser bigs, like Darrell Arthur, Donte Green or DeAndre Jordan, all of whom were available. (One has to assume that if the Nets had taken Bayless at #10, they wouldn’t have taken Lee at #21.)</div>

Shit, I would've been happy with either of those guys. Even with Brook/Ryan on the board, they would've been solid picks.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Expect the next press release from the Nets, after the Dooling signing, to be one announcing the hiring of Roy Rogers, the former Alabama and NBA shot blocker, as big man coach.</div>
Well, that sounds like Rod there. Going after someone who can help the big guys protect the rim. Shall we expect double-digit blocks in games from Sean? [IMG]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Harris told the local papers he is adjusting to being the Nets’ “point guard of the future” (not now?), a bit upset by the Richard Jefferson trade, but excited in general.</div>
    Wow, I'm surprised. I thought everyone hated RJ. <div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SDsPq3dXkvk&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SDsPq3dXkvk&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div>

thats what I think we all were thinking

And hope for an eventual line up of Bayless, Harris, VC ect. Even though Bayless dominates the ball.

I would still take Lee over Anderson, Lee is a shooter at a position of need, Anderson is behind a lot of guys
