Alvarez advanced to the GP finals but had a swollen eye and doctors deamed it too dangerous to fight. Alvarez told the commentators he pleased to let him fight as Aoki is a ground fighter, but it was a no go. Joachim Hansen won the alternate fight and thus moved into the finals of the GP and beat Aoki, who was considered by many to be the #1 or #2 LW in the world. IMO BJ and Gomi are still #1 and #2, but Aoki is just below them. Huge win for Hansen who has had his ups and downs. I love it because I love Hansen.. I soooo want to see him in the UFC.
