    .

Forget Lito Sheppard. Anthony Gargano says the Philadelphia Eagles and star running back Brian Westbrook are at least $15 million apart in contract talks.

Westbrook is expected to report to Eagles' training camp at Lehigh University this week, but he has a new agent and wants to be paid as much as Chargers' star LaDanien Tomlinson, said Gargano on an interview on "Good Day Philadelphia."

Westbrook is the Eagles' top player and arguably the best all-around running back in the NFL.

But he has a history of injuries, which led the Eagles to drag out Westbrook's most recent contract.

Gargano said the Eagles were offering $15 million in guaranteed money to Westbrook, while his agent was asking for $30 million.

Also, Gargano said that the Eagles were in the last-minute bidding fir defensive end Jason Taylor, who was traded to the Redskins on Sunday night.

The Dolphins reportedly wanted a second round and fifth round draft pick from the Eagles, who balked at the offer.

Taylor was send to Washington for a second round and fifth round draft pick from the Redskins.</div>

The Eagles have to pay him/need to pay him. He is without question one of the best threats in the league. You pay him.

Eagles FO...pay the man please. He was easily our best player last season, and one of the top 10 RBs in the league.

You can go higher than that. He's easily a top 3 RB.

And yes, he deserves to be paid.

I know, haha. Just didn't want to sound too homer-ish.

Nah, its not homerish. (BTW: I'm a Cowboys fan).

LT, Westbrook..... then I guess you can go with Peterson.

It'd be interesting to see what would happen if Westbrook got more carries (assuming he can handle the load). But I'm glad Reid doesn't do that. Of course, I'd be happier if they'd stop throwing to him too.

A Cowboys fan saying nice thing about the Eagles? [IMG]

    Haha, just playing. [IMG]

But yeah, I definitely feel Brian Westbrook is very underrated. I don't think people talk about him as much as they do with guys like LT and AP, and that's a shame. I think he's been under the radar for a while now, even guys like Reggie Bush were getting more attention than him. Brian does it all for us. He IS our offense. I sided with the front office during the TO situation, but this is different. Brian deserves a raise, in fact, if there is anybody on the roster that deserves a raise, it would be him. I'm praying the front office just wises up and pays him what he is due, hopefully this won't get messy because that would really be a shame.

Well, I can be a homer at times..... but denying Westbrook's skill level is soaring to heights of homerism I have never dreamed of.

He was Reggie Bush before Reggie Bush. He was what Bush was supposed to be; and if Bush is lucky, he'll reach that. But Bush gets a ton of publicity for what's really been a disappointing career; while Westbrook doesn't get much notice outside of fans of the NFC East.

    Its a shame.

Because he is one of the best players in the league.

They need to pay him and keep giving him more carries.

    You're a Giants fan.

You want him to have less carries.

As do I. Last thing we want is for Reid to figure out a run game.

lol, well I'm trying to be objective about it. Ideally, the Eagles' front office will be unnecessarily stingy and Reid continues to ignore the fact that his best offensive player is, in fact, a running back.

Pay the man. He's such a great team player, and obviously cares more about the team than his stats.

The slide is my best memory from last year.

That guy scares me to death. When they let him return punts in the 4th quarter I start sweating and cursing.

Last year against the Seahawks when he lined up for a punt return I knew that he would get a nice return. He got tackled in the red zone and then I knew it was over cause Feeley's #1 option on offense seemed to be Tatupu and the pass went to Tatupu again to seal the game for the Seahawks.
    Nice effort from Brian tho
