From 86-92 (essentially the last HALF of his career), I saw every game he played minus about 5-6. Added together, I saw the VAST majority of games he played in his career. And you're wrong (surprise) about the 1986 Finals. He was less animated then than he had been in 1984 when he permitted himself an ML Carr towel waiving moment. The most remarkable interaction with a teammate in 86 came in game 6 when he dove for a lose ball and berated Danny Ainge moments later for not coming towards him to receive the pass.

Bill Walton brought an infectious enthusiasm to the bench that year and there was more interaction for Bird, McHale and the team at timeouts and such. That was also the time when Larry was starting to become less introverted and participated in things like the famous Larry & Magic commercial for Converse's Weapon shoes.

Man...cpaw...I'm with you on this one...mainly because you usually agree with me on the very few things I DO say here on this site. (I need allies) All the other times I just don't pay attention to you By the way people, this is a forum. Disagreements make this what it is. That's why we come here, to argue. And other dude, whatever his name is, please stop using big words, using them won't prove anything about intelligence. Not hating on you, just thought it was a rather pompous thing to read, because I pictured some middle age man trying to gather whatever former glory he had on some internet forum. Anyway, continue (I expect someone to bash me soon)

Pat Summit IS a good coach.
I don't think anyone thinks Summit isn't a good coach. The question is whether she would be effective coaching in the NBA.

The only difference is that she coached college women. But when it comes to coaching, her winning philosophy will still be the same, she would just have different players under her than she is used to. I think she'd be a fine coach in the league, give her a couple of years, it'll show. Only problem that MIGHT come up is whether NBA players would not listen to or disrespect a female coach. But they are being paid to play, so coach should not matter in my opinion.

lets sign her in 2010, corner the female demographic. But really, she loses points for looking like Jackie McMullen
