    Carter is a pretty good playmaker.

    Dooling is a pretty good PG. Van Gundy simply put the ball in Turkoglu's hands, and told Dooling to be a scorer. So Dooling came in, and was an extremely affective scorer who could be counted on to come in and score some quick points off the bench.

    And it's not like Marcus was that great of a point guard, either. I don't know how Harris isn't a legitimate point guard. Just because he isn't Jason Kidd, doesn't mean he's not that good.

    Pegs and JCB bringing it!

    Pegs obviously watched the Magic quite a bit last year and JCB with some really accurate observations about Marcus.

    I love real posters who don't base all their opinions on box scores and media reports! :cheers:

We were something like 20th in the league last year, this year we'll be even worse. Also, we're an injury away from VC as backup pg again. Hope we're not done.</div>

    Marcus was a 32% 3 point shooter who averaged less then 1 make per game. i dont think we are going to "miss" that. especially since we now have:

    Jarvis Hayes - 35% from 3, over 36% the last 3 seasons
    Bobby Simmons - 39% from 3
    Keyon Dooling - 31.4% from 3
    Ryan Anderson - showed nba range in college and stroked it in orlando summer league

    This deal was a GREAT one for the nets. you removed someone with a negative attitude who was in the coaches doghouse. you removed more money off the books for 2010. We cut salary for this season. We created more minutes for Douglass-Roberts to see time and get in the gaurd rotation.

    AND we got a first rounder, which may be higher then the #21 pick we used to get williams. this is a win for ThornKi

    Well, atleast they got something of value for Marcus. Hopefully they could use it along with other stuff to get some better starters on the Nets. Good luck to Marcus.

    This is a great trade for us. Considering we picked up Marcus with, for argument's sake, a lottery-protected first rounder, it's great that we get our money back despite him losing 2 years and not producing anything spectacular. The investment lost value, but that didn't seem to matter. In rod we trust.

    Well if he's going to put it all together at some point, I like his chances of doing it under Nellie. I'll be watching his situation, because the situations about as perfect as you could hope for. He's got great coaching, a loose system, and an opportunity.

    Explain for AY (After Yi) Nets fans plz!

    Btw who is Ager and i thought Sean Williams was a good defender? Is he only good at blocks and nothing else like Camby?
    </div>

    Sean is a bad positional defender. He tries to block everything, but never really "defends" his man. For example: On multiple occasions, if he's defending someone on the perimeter, he'll let the player drive by him so he can try and block his shot from behind. Sometimes it works. Most times it doesn't. And it's really frustrating.

    And Ager is Maurice Ager. He's an under-sized SG that was acquired in the Jason Kidd trade from Dallaes.
    </div>

    Sean has potential to be a decent defender, but he is still learning.

    In all fairness, take a look at that draft after around the 8th pick or so . . . it's hard to find five players selected that are significant contributors. Marcus may not have developed into much (so far), but it wasn't a deep draft by any means.

    It's OK, but it's all about that 2015 second round pick.

    i actually need to say sorry to someone, o forget who, but I thought there was no way GS would trade for him.

    I still dont see how he can keep up w/ monta, magette, Jackson, harrington, beidnrins, wright and randolph, but I was wrong.

    I heard Carroll got torched yesterday too. But i guess house could never play a lick of defense anyway.
    </div>

    I suspect that it isn't going to be Carroll.

    I suspect that Carroll was invited to RMR because they knew that Marcus might not last the week. They need additional bodies for the first few weeks of training camp for scrimages, and this is just a chance for Carroll to make some money. I would be surprised if he made the team, to be honest.
