We'll find out over the next year or two whether he has the drive and determination to become a great player or not. However I just don't understand why people feel the need to put a cap on what he can do. Remember it took Yao 4 years to average over 20 ppg. There was a stage where I wonder if he ever would but he did it. Yi has the skill and potential as I've already explain it another thread. I mean how many players you know that can execute a play as smoothly as this against Lamar Odom? Unfortunately we just don't see enough of this kind of stuff from Yi. He is just going to have to figure out how to use his skills to impact the game. Right now he looks like a young player who is just happy to be in the NBA. One day he is going to have to realize just being in the NBA is not enough. Making a good move or two per game is not enough. He is going to have to do it over and over in a game for his team to win.

So Yao basically grew by 7pts in a span of four years, this means Yi's 8+7=15pts, exactly the amount I predicted.
