    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Yahoo Sports)</div><div class='quotemain'><u>Europe offers more than vacation to NBA players</u>
“In the next four or five years, could I end up playing over there?” Kidd wondered. “Hey, why wouldn’t I play in Italy or somewhere (else)? That might be a great experience.

“It’s a legitimate option now with Childress going over there.”

As he prepares for the Beijing Olympics with Team USA, Kidd is under contract with Dallas through next season. He has his eyes on an extension past 2008-09, but who knows anymore?

“Why not?” Kidd said. “We saw the Euro players coming here, and now it’s kind of flip-flopping.”</div>

Wasn't Marbury supposed to go over next year?

Maybe Kidd can go over too and go compete against each other.

Wow. That just seems pretty low for someone who's supposed to be a Hall of Famer.

I thought he wanted a championship..?

He did say "four or five" years. It's not a big deal.

Well Kidd is probably talking after his NBA contract finishes up, if a European club offers him Josh Childress money like a multi year contract at 6-7 mill. He won't just leave the Mavs while under contract though. (He is making like 20 mill per year)

But year Kidd was talking like 4 years from now.

If Kidd plays in Europe, it will be for an NBA team. Not Euroleague.

Really? You're not rooting for China to win it all?

Thank you [IMG] I'm saying by the time he would even seriously comprehend playing overseas, the NBA will have already expanded into Europe.

Stern knows that that the Childress situation will be a precursor to the future. Right now, with the way NBA finances are structured, players can make a LOT more money in Europe than here (especially taking the Euro/USD into account).

You think the NBA will have a European league in 4 years? There hasn't even been much speculation or rumours on such a thing.
