Here is an exert from his transcript: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>'I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.' They kept bitching about trips to Iraq, and Obama turned it around on them. Hah, too funny.
I wonder how much they paid for all that PR in Germany, and how much the bribes were for the public officials.

I've heard some pretty out there theories about this. Like the US is basically the only force preventing total socialism from taking over in Europe; if there's no free markets in Europe, everyone would come here for ours. The theory being that Obama would move us so far in that direction the Europeans wouldn't have anything to fear anymore. It's hard to fathom all the TV stations in Germany running 24/7 Obama commercials without getting paid tho.
McCain just looks downright terrible and out of it. You can't buy the benefits of having the press root for you and ignore your opponent like this. It's hard to fathom why the race seems as close as it does from the polling reports.
More and more Barack Obama looks like the John F. Kennedy of the 21st century. Besides the obvious charisma, there's the acceptance speech in a football stadium, the Berlin speech that Kennedy also made. Nobody has bought together more people and united the Democratic party since John Kennedy.

On the same article they mentioned that the German people were angry because Germany was going to pay a portion of it.
I didn't really find this speech good, or moving. It was pretty predictable to be honest. He came to Berlin to get Europe on his side, which didn't need doing at all. Also, I loved his boring reinactment of the Berlin Airlift. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Denny Crane @ Jul 24 2008, 11:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>This is 2008, not 1958.</div> And yet a gunman killed 3 students on campus today...

People go postal. Shit happens. It's not the same as a lynch mob or lynch mob mentality.
