http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3503935 It surprised me. I guess Evans wanted far more than 2.2 mils per year, so we decided to keep Azubuike instead and give another finger to Clippers...
I'm happier with this result, really. Good to show that we reward/keep players, plus he's only going to get better.
Huh??? That's so weird, I thought Evans was officially a done deal. Weird. Well I'm glad to have Azubuike back, as long as there's enough money left for Monta and Beans.

He may have gotten a slightly better offer from the Clips and wanted to go back to LA. More importantly, Azubuike is back and the Warriors have internal development !!!
I like Azu and nice to see him back but now its almost a sure thing that either Beli or Azu will get no playing time (my guess is Beli). I guess it gives us another trade-able asset though.
Azu is younger than Evans, so this works out well for us. He will be a key player for us in the future, if he stays.

Yeah, I'm glad Az is back. I thought he was far more important than Barnes or Pietrus -- he just never makes mistakes, has great hands and basketball sense, and understands the flow of the game. Plus he rebounds so well for his size. I remember when GS first called him up. Later in the year I had basically formed the opinion that he was better than JRich. Could do everything JRich could do, plus has natural dribbling handles and better natural basketball sense. I still think, if he got 35 minutes a night, he would be better than JRich. Glad he's back, and at a great price. BTW -- does this officially mean no Mo Evans, or can we get him (and still sign Beans) too?
You know, the Warriors may not be the most talented team, but it seems to me they'll be a much deeper team this year. Instead of basically Azubuike, Watson, Barnes, and Pietrus, we'll have Azubuike, Watson, Wright, Turiaf, Belinelli, Williams, Evans, and Hendrix. Wow, huge difference in depth. That's 13 players though. All in all not a bad offseason all things considered, assuming they keep Beans Still not thrilled to see Al starting at PF though.

But we do have a pretty neat roster with a TON of potential. I like how Mully got players who will be good for the development of the youngs, and he got an additional young in M Williams who will be fun to watch.
Evans signed with Atlanta, not sure who decided to say no first, but I think after Evans paused on the offer we decided not to take a risk. As for Kelenna. reports were that European teams were offering him $5+ million a year, but he wanted to stay in the NBA. I think that's clearly overpaying him, but it also says things about how much he wants to be in this league and with his attitude, he's clearly going to work hard to stay here.
Azubuike is the real deal! I'm glad this deal happened because he's a hard worker, he plays D against Kobe, and he has a bit of power guard in him. That's always good to have in addition to having a pure shooting guard.
Here's some vids in tribute to the Az:
