That's five minutes. Of a meaningless summer league game. Whatever the other four guys are doing, he'll help them win. He's real. No hype and no bull. </div> Good to hear. If confidence and playing to potential off the bat are the criterion, I'd bet on him having the biggest impact of the 3 rookies right away.
Lopez + Boone is no good. Neither of them can guard a jumpshooter and if they go out to guard it's easy to go around them. Unless the other team has someone like Diop they can't really play at the same time.

He has work to do on his game and his body, though. (His shot is a little sketchy and he struggles to get through screens.) But that's no reason to sit him because he knows what he's doing and he'll adjust and produce while he gets better. He's the anti-Wright.
Anderson grabs his man when he gets by him. 5 second on the inbounds, nets ball. hodge running point. Missed 3 by #0 on the nets. Dallas the other way gets fouled by Lopez. Rhodes for Dallas looking good. 13 or so points, 4 boards, couple blocks. Shooting high % Dallas in a zone... Anderson gets it inside and again cannot convert.... fouled but not in the act. Nets are just passing around the outside of the zone. Jaycee to lopez for a long 2 with shotclock running out, misses. Dallas miss. #0 Carroll floater the other way. Not entirely sure who this guy is, an earlier graphic called him Carroll Pat.... its not Pat Carroll... idk Anderson fouled on a drive and AGAIN misses the shot. He really should have made that. Hodge defending the PG, steals it and goes in for a jam. CDR burned but his man passes it to Row 4, Seat D... nobody home. Nets ball. Hodge at the point again. CDR herky jerky drive , gets shot over a tall dude and it rolls in. Lopez was there to rebound. Bad D by Nets, easy layup for Dallas. Hodge dribble drive, pass off knocked out by Dallas. Somehow now Dallas has the ball. Had a phone call and missed a few plays. 72-58 Dallas. 4:40 to go. Anderson spin move on baseline, misses the lay in. Dallas easy dunk in transition again. Hodge dribble drive, misses a lefty floater. Dallas jumper missed, Anderson doesnt box out but bailed out by a loose ball foul. CDR dribble drive push shot good and he got knocked down no call. Anderson blown defensive assignment, easy score dallas. Nets miss, rebound out of bounds. Dallas ball.

Hmm. Doesn't sound like Anderson and Lopez will be sharing much court time if they are that bad defensively.
Charles Rhodes (Dallas) putting on a clinic of finding the right spot to be offensively reading passes. 21 points, bunch of boards, 2 steals. 2:55 to go, 76-60 Dallas. Dallas couldnt find a shot, finally chucked it, Anderson the board (it came to him). Nets break the other way, Hodge fouled + goaltend. nearly airballed the FT. CDR gambles on D a lot pushing his man to the baseline assuming there is help. Dallas miss, nets come up the floor and no one really stops CDR, layup good. Dallas miss, o-board. Gerald Green 3. Jaycee driving fouled, side out nets. Hicks given an iso face up, out of control spin for a bad shot. Jaycee smoked, his man gets a layup. Jaycee good pick and roll with Hicks for a dunk. Jaycee pressuring the ball almost steals it. CDR frustrating Green, called for a ticky tack touch foul with shot clock low. Dallas misses a shot, nets dont box out, Dallas o-board. Dallas running down the clock. Bad alley oop attempt by Dallas. Hicks in low post dribbles around and gets fouled. 1 second to go. Hicks o/2 from the line. 81-66 Dallas final.
CDR drove, got his defender in the air, pulled it down and put in the reverse. Jaycee Carroll had a nice pass for a Eric Hicks dunk.

And Sean Williams has not shown he can guard outside the paint, either. Add Krstic if he's somehow a Net this season. This is a problem. Thank God for Najera.
Good game for Swat, Hodge and CDR. Brook played good D and played much better offensively. Anderson hustled alot but his shot was dropping... still almost a double-double 10pts 8 boards I think. Carrol stunk tonite, he looked just a titch better passing but overall we sucked more when he was on the court.
Thanks again to everyone who provided updates. Having rated download speeds in excess of 3000 KBits/sec is apparently of no use to me in receiving streaming broadcasts.
These games have a lot of funky matchups you won't see in a real game. You can't make general statements about players based on these games. Of course Carroll looks bad guarding Gerald Green. Lopez has no prayer against a mobile PF/SF type like Rhodes. Plus, the team defense is lousy because the players have spent no time in the system and with each other.

I guess 10 pts. 7 rebs. 5 assists and a steal is a pretty lame game? He has only been playing PG for three weeks and will get better. CDR looked pretty good and will get some easy looks with VC. Anderson hustles but got killed by Rhodes.
IMHO watching the 2 games at the RMR and all the games in Orlando, Anderson has bust written all over him. He wasn't boxing out, he got lost on defense, and he can't hit a damned layup if anyone is in the same zip code as he is. Lopez will be at worst a solid bench player, at best a slightly above average starter. He seems to play pretty fundamentally. He'll learn to work in pick and rolls if he knows whats good for him. CDR will have a long career if he maintains his hustle and determination. His intangibles are extremely high. He plays team defense in that he pushes people into help... just in summer league he has to know that the help won't be there lol. Jaycee would be a nice story to pick him up, but he isn't going to do much for developing other young guys, especially bigs. He's a massive defensive liability leading to big guys picking up fouls and he doesn't distribute well enough to play much point. He can create his own shot... and if he looked around... he could create openings for other people. He just needs to learn that other guys can score too. Swat looked really good today. He didn't get much burn and probably no statistical blocks, but he made people think twice about drives to the basket when he was in. Most surprising was his offensive plays -2 baseline turnarounds - 1 from each side -1 turnaround at the FT line -another from the elbow iirc 2 bad offensive touches: -getting stripped on the double down on his first touch -a wild spinning shot from what I call the "Tim Duncan goes glass from 15' spot" Hodge was very active and showed he could at least compete with summer leaguers as a combo. It would be tough if I had to pick Jaycee versus Hodge... Jaycee has had better #s in SL but has been super 1 dimensional. Hodge doesn't have good #s in SL but has looked decent defensively. If both go to camp and a roster spot is on the line, I'd love to watch some of those scrimmages where they go head to head. I bet Hodges' athleticism and height would really shut Jaycee down... which I think is how Jaycee would translate to the NBA... defensive liability and not fast enough to still be an offensive force.
