The threat sounds like a negotiating ploy more than anything right now. There's no team's attached to him and there's been no news of this kind to date. I think its a possibility down the road, but I got the impression that his agent's trying to use the recent rush of players signing in Europe as a way to get the Lakers to up their offer. Not necessarily sure they have to. Obviously its a big blow to their bench, but the Lakers are probably in the best situation of anyone in the league, in that they can contend for a title now while still having a window of opportunity that extends for several years down the road.
Apparently the Lakers offered him a 3 year deal worth 12 million. I'd give him an offer of 4 years 17 million, the exact deal Ronny got from the Warriors. Anyways, Sasha definitely over valued himself coming into free agency. He thought teams would be lining up to him for MLE offers, instead, I don't think any team has even offerred him a contract. Serves him right. Seems like other teams around the league are smart by picking up the fact that Sasha is a contract year player

It is important to remember that even if Sasha is gone, Sun Yue may very well be coming from China to fill spots at PG, SG, SF. Yes Sun Yue handle the ball like a guard in a 6-9 frame. Sun Yue is actually a younger version of a slightly less talented Lamar Odom, size + dribbling ability. I think Yue will fit quite well even if Sasha leaves.
Sun Yue? Dude, he probably won't even make the team, let alone see any quality minutes for us next year

Chances are he will come and fill out as a role player off the bench.
Yeah, they're negotiating so he can come and compete in training camp. Nobody even knows if he's better than Coby Karl or Joe Crawford. Even if he does make the roster, he's not going to give us anything next year, except for a bunch of DNPs. I'm not taking shots at Yue, because I do think he's a pretty good prospect with a lot of potential, but he's a long term project. Definitely not someone who's going to contribute big minutes next year, maybe a couple of years down the road.

With the Lakers losing some of their key bench players, i'd expect them to mesh and experience with different players.
Um, he's not getting more playing time because he can't play. Sun Yue isn't even a top player in China, he doesn't even start for the Chinese National Team. He's going to be competing for the last roster spot, and players who compete for the last roster spot don't play. Even if he does play, he's going to get killed in NBA competition because he is too weak. He doesn't play good defense and doesn't have a jumpshot. There's no way he's getting any meaningful minutes next year
