But seriously guys how do you let a 25 year old Gerald Wallace get picked this late. He plays hard on both sides of the court, never takes plays off and is emerging as one of the top defenders. He doesn't give much less than what Butler, Carter, Igloudaga and Josh Smith give. All those guys were picked in the first round while I got Wallace 2 round later. Talk about Value</div> I wouldn't want Gerald Wallace leading my team, especially not late in games. Butler on the other hand, well, let's just say I most definitely want the ball in his hands down the stretch. </div> Gerald Wallace gets a bad rap for being injury prone but who has played more games in the past. Lets look at the last 2 seasons Butler has played 121 games, Wallace- 134 games. Also Wallace isn't my only go to guy that the stretch, I also have Amare and Josh Howard. </div> Well, I didn't mention anything about the two players health. And I only brought up the "down the stretch" aspect to show that is why Caron Butler is a 1st round guy and Wallace is not. Butler is money in the 4th quarter, and as a result he deserves to go in the first and can very well handle being a leader on my team. </div> Butler and Wallace both average 4.9 points in the fourth quarter. http://www.82games.com/QTR4S11.HTM Also it wasn't you but someone else who mentioned Wallace's health before </div> In the last 5 minutes of fourth quarters, Gerald Wallace had an eFG% of 27%. Butler had an eFG% of 51%. In the last 5 minutes of fourth quarters, per 48 min, Wallace averaged 17 points. Butler averaged 38 points. The difference is striking. Butler is up there with Melo (actually a little better than Melo) in terms of performance at the end of games, in crunch time. He is much more efficient at the end of games than Wallace is, and as a result, there is a MUCH better chance something good will happen if the ball is in his hands at that juncture of the contest than if the ball was in Wallace's hands. And it terms of overall team play, when Wallace was on the floor in the last 5 minutes of a game, the Bobcats averaged, per 48 min, 106 points. They gave up 108 points. The Wizards on the other hand, averaged 113 points, while giving up only 104 when Butler was on the floor in the closing minutes. Butler also does not turn the ball over as much at the end of games, though it's not something either of them excel at particularly. Wallace in cruch time | Butler in cruch time That is why Butler is a first round pick. </div> Just on a whim, for no real reason at all, I looked up Hedo Turkoglu's crunch time statistics as compared to Caron Butler's. Butler: eFG of 51%, Hedo: eFG% of 48%. Butler: per 48 min, 38 points, Hedo: per 48 min, 38 points. Wizards w/Butler: score 113, allow 104, +11. Magic w/Hedo: score 112, allow 100, +12. turkoglu in crunch time Just thought I'd throw that out there, make of it what you will. Butler's better in crunch time than Melo, you say?
im willing 2 trade my 3rd pick if i could package melo or redd for a big man anyone interested?? tell me asap
L i saw batman and everything but your sig is still disturbing lol ouch ohh and what do you guys think of my pick??
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (L @ Aug 1 2008, 10:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I thought you wanted a big. Why go point guard?</div> well i did and still do, but i feel if i at least wanna try 2 make the redd, melo combo work i gotta get a decent point. Kirk can distribute the ball and he can also guard both guard spots something all need since i here Redd's defense isn't great.
