for the 1st time in the leagues history, we have had a trade challenged because it was deemed a threat to competitive balance....we will now vote on whether to accept or deny this trade....5 votes are needed for either outcome to pass....the 3 owners involved(GF1, Pack Attack, and myself) will obstain, as we already know how they feel....I will post the trade in this thread, please vote for Acceptable or Non-Acceptable....the trade is in flux until enough vote to create a majority:

the Beefadel Bulldogs trade the #1 overall selection in the 2008 Rookie Draft as well as a 3rd round pick(#25 overall) to GF1 to the Rescue for WR Andre Johnson, the 3rd overall pick of the draft and a 2nd round pick(#15 overall)

What moron objected to this trade. Yeah GF1 is giving 2 good players for 1, but 1 with potential for greatness at the most important position in the game. It isnt as tainted of a deal as say a QB who wears #4 giving up a record breaking sack.

I'd like to vote for this trade as a fair one. I can understand why there was objection because of the swapping picks but some teamas value picks more than others outside the top 5.

I think GF1 is taking a wooden nickle here. He is only moving up two spots in the first round and giving up a prime WR. Not to mention a 2nd for a 3rd rounder. I think it is a little unbalanced. I will vote unacceptable. Sorry if that offends anyone, but it is my viceral reation. I will be happy with the majority outcome, whatever it is, with no hard feelings though.

I really can see both sides on this trade. In the end I dont think it is an even trade (right now), but it is hardly one that hurts either team.

Yeah Johnson is a top WR, but at the same time McFadden has the potential and opportunity for playing time to put up some huge numbers as a rookie. I dont think he goes AP crazy, but you cant discount the fact that McFadden has just as much potential as AP, especially in a keeper league.

If this trade were midway through the season and McFadden was posting 80 yards and a score per game, not many would object, so I have to approve this trade.

I believe that blocking a trade should happen when it appears that two owners are corroborating to make one team unbeatable especially when it's obvious that the other team isn't concerned with being competitive. I don't see that here. It feels like GF1 is giving up a lot, however it looks like it's because he feels that there is a player at the top of the draft that he feels he must have. I will vote acceptable, but would like to know how Pack Attack is involved in this deal.

Pack Attack is the owner that felt it was unfair....hes involved in the block....essentially, we already know how I feel, we know how GF1 feels, and we know how PA feels, so theres no point in any of us voting on this....it also allows for an uneven number so theres no chance for a tie....once everyone has chimed in, there will be a majority, and thats the way I was planning to proceed.....I dont ever want one of our owners to feel like I forced a decision down their throats that they didnt agree with, so in my opinion, its better to get a league consesus and proceed on issues like these....I dont believe any of the owners would talent dump to kill their own team, because there is always next year, but It is good to have a mechanism in place in case it happens....as always, if an owner doesnt like the procedure, I am open to suggestions and I would put just about anything up for a league vote....

    Here is my take....

I think GF1 to the Rescue is probably undervaluing Andre Johnson. I really think he's an elite fantasy receiver and I think giving him up to move up 2 spots for McFadden is a lot.

I'm going to vote against the deal but like I said in the other trade if it goes through I'm not going to really care since it's obvious that both owners are doing what they feel is best for their teams. However I have to give my vote in what's best for the league so that is what lead me to vote against it.

Might I just mention the 3rd rounder is a #25 which is the first pick in the third and Andre Johnson can not stay healthy. I don't see how anyone can see the trade as "irrational". risky, yes.....but isn't that what Fantasy Football is all about?
