    This thread doesnt make sense.

IF the brooklyn thing went through they would just go to Newark. They need another team over there.

Well then, let's say for some unknown reason the Newark thing didn't work, either. This is just a "what if" type of thing. What if the Nets left the NJ-NY area.

David Stern has said several times that NJ will not get another franchise.

In David Stern's world, NJ has already lost the Nets, as far as hes concerned, this team belongs to Brooklyn. It sucks but we have to live with it.

If the highest bidder is from out of the area, neither Ratner or Stern will care. So it's not impossible some NJ interest will buy the team, but it's more likely someone else somewhere else will buy it.

That's kind of why I wish they would play at The Rock until Brooklyn. At least see what the potential is here for a team when it plays at a state-of-the-art arena with mass transit. Also make it easier to recruit NYC and Staten Island fans that would want to follow the team in Brooklyn.

Actually it doesnt suck. it would suck if they move out of the tristate area.

If they move, bring them to Vegas. Seattle or KC can have the Bucks when they fail to build a new arena in the next few years.

If the Nets left the tri state area I would become a Knicks or Sixers fan by default. I would want to see my favorite team live and in person after all.

If the Nets move out of the tri-state area then they lose me as a fan...I root for them because I'm from jersey...and I hate the knicks. I guess I'd either start rooting for the sixers or maybe a west coast team like Golden State...or I'd be a winners fan and root for the Blazers.

I would be miserable. I would cheer for the Connecticut Sun before I called myself a Knick fan so Id pretty much be forced to be a general NBA fan. If the Nets moved to Seattle and took the Sonics name I dont know how I could possibly still be a fan of theirs..Brooklyn bothers me enough already (yeah, I know its better for the franchise) being from Jersey..

Alright you guys, I'll remember this the next time we play the 76ers; for shame.
