I dunno, I can still go back and play Mario the original, Marion #2, Mario #3, super mario world, and mario 64, and still find it challenging and enjoyable. (Mario 64 is probably the least challenging of the bunch for me now)

Zombies ate my neighbours, chrono trigger, super metroid, still have very good game-play. (others too I forget)

Same thing with the Zelda games (except they take a while to beat I probably won't go back to them for a while).

I still play sonic and NBA Jam for SEGA from time to time, and those games are still awesome as hell.

This list is broken. Two GTA games on there. No Zelda.

Hell, the top Nintendo series9Mario, Zelda, Metroid) should all be considered.

    Wiiplay...wtf?

Lara Croft...never felt that was special.

People can also make a strong case for Everquest and perhaps the Metal Gear series.

Oh, and Mario Kart 64 is mentioned but not Super Smash Bros?

We should hold our own S2 video game poll. We'd pick the real top games.

    Any other options?

EDIT: BTW, I'm thinking it's a good idea to keep "series" together - Super Smash, Mario, Sonic, MGS, etc. Does anyone disagree with that?

Well I think for the Mario series you can't just have "Mario series", because Mario Kart, Mario Party, then Mario 64, Mario 1,2,3 Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG, Mario sunshine, and Mario galaxy are pretty much 3 different series: Mario Kart series, Mario Party series, and Mario series,(adventure).

the megaman series was good for SNES, but I dunno if they made anything else worth mentioning. As well the Donkey Kong series for SNES was very solid, the 64 version I never got around to.

I got the Action Pak or some shit when I got my first NES that included RC Pro Am and Bayou Billy, not Mario/Duck Hunt and a Zapper. The dumb thing about the package was that Bayou Billy had shooting levels which I could never do without a Zapper. So I guess I never was on board with the obsessive Mario hype that has afflicted people for decades. Probably why I had a Sega Genesis, Sega 32X, Sega CD, then a Playstation, an Xbox and an Xbox 360--never a Nintendo console after the NES.

Donkey was solid but nothing great to tell about it. The Mario series I would put up as an A list series. Mario Kart 64 should stay by itself. Mario Party, never liked them that much except for the fourth installment. I'm topsy turvy on Resident Evil, but Half Life definitely deserves a spot imo. Mortal Kombat? Nah. That's more famous since it was basically the game that caused the ESRB to come into existence. It was violent but not all that great imo.

I'd remove Halo from that list. Counterstrike?

Resident Evil 4 was a classic as far as the action/horror genre is concerned.

Funny as hell Spanish villagers too...

I've only played Mario Tennis once like 3 years ago, but I have to say I was impressed by it and wanted to buy it.

Donkey Kong 1,2,3 were all good games for the SNES, I think enjoyed playing 1 and 2 almost as much as I did Mario.

Another series to look in to would be Elder Scrolls. I loved Oblivion, easily one of my top 15 games of all time.
