<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Blackburn Rovers have confirmed they are in negotiations with Tottenham over the possible sale of David Bentley.

But chairman John Williams has told BBC Radio Lancashire the club have yet to accept a bid for the England winger.

Bentley, 23, has made no secret of his desire to quit Ewood Park despite only signing a contract extension in 2007.

Blackburn have already rejected bids from Tottenham and Aston Villa for Bentley who is expected to cost buying clubs in the region of ?17m.

Spurs will be looking to strengthen their attack after the sale of influential striker Robbie Keane to Liverpool - a move which could see the club receive a total of £20.3m in transfer fees.</div>

I still don't understand where Spurs have gotten all this money from. Was Big Sam just saving up his pension his whole time as manager?

Looks like the Spurs will play a 3/3/4 or a 1/5/3 next year...

Bentley is younger than Keane, but I don't think he's the type of replacement they needed.

Their defense was horrible, they had to outscore people to win last year.

They haven't bought one defender yet.

Looking over their transfers, I seem less uncomfortable now. It felt like they bought a lot more than Dos Santos and Modric. I think Arsenal have matched them with Nasri and Vela. Anyway...

can i ask why Spurs are doing this, because they have Dos Santos and Modric playing...maybe Dos Santos wont be in 1st XI..and will be used as a sub.. i dont know...just a waste of money...need a striker and defenders

I think they plan to play a 1/5/4 with 3 attacking midfielders. Dos Santos and Modric will be 2 of the 3, perhaps Bentley too, but more so as a winger.

They did buy a goalie. Big part of their defense... and Robinson was horrible for them last year.

They are desperate for strikers too. They only have Berbatov and Bent.

Every time they buy a new player, my hatred for them increases dramatically.
