Much was made of Gary Shaw's demotion last month, though ProElite denied that it was a demotion but rather a shift in perspective or some crap. Shaw resigned today, to the delight of Dana White I'm sure. Probably one of those deals where they tell you "bow out gracefully or we'll throw you out indignantly". Shaw and his company will stay on in a consulting role. Looks like EliteXC is going to try and go in a new direction. In related news, UFC's replay of UFC 84 out-drew EliteXC's Saturday Night Fights in young male viewers. That sticks in the craw of ProElite fo rizzle.
I'm glad to hear he's gone.. he's old school boxing and the MMA doesn't need that type of person running a major promotion (only because they are on CBS). On one hand I want Elite XC to fail and go away and stop the dilution of talent. On the other hand if it does fail on a major network.. you think any other network will give MMA a shot?
