    He still has Brad Miller from the good old days. [IMG]</div>

    Bobby Jackson + Brad Miller !!! go for the 'ship!

    Jackson played 25 games with the Kings when Kmart was a rookie too.
    </div>

    Looks like the Kings are pushing to rebuild for the future, with KMart being the center piece.

    </div>

    Yea, but at the moment other than Kmart, their roster doesn't seem very impressive even for the future. At least they will have plenty of cap flexibility in 2 years.
    </div>

    A run at LeBron? [IMG]

    </div>
    BRON TO COWTOWN!!!

    Hmmm, much to Nets fans relief, Lebron didn't list Sactown in his fav 5 cities.
    </div>

    Say they move to Vegas? (Maloofs would do it)

    Then they have a chance? [IMG]

    Actually that sounds somewhat feasible. I'd wager there would be more players who would prefer to play there. Although Sacramento does have good fans.

    Fantastic deal. Morey proves once again he is one of the most astute GMs in the league. Our team is now one of the deepest in the league with a top-rate starting five and Barry, Battier, Landry (hopefully), and a healthy Steve Francis off the bench. The only hard thing will be to get the team to mesh and to get out of the West, as I feel we can actually top Boston if we meet.

    As for Artest and Adelman, Artest has said that Adelman is the best coach he's played for. That and the fact that he's in a contract year should keep his behaviour in check. A perimeter defense of Artest, Battier and a focused TMac will be stifling.

    And also, I don't rate the first rounder for 09 we give up highly either. The 2nd round pick from Memphis through the Greene trade will be an equivalent, as there'll be likely no more than 5 spots in between. The lack of a guaranteed contract in the 2nd round also gives us more flexibility.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The idea of having both Battier and Artest is nice but would be a waste IMO. The Rockets have a lot of very good pieces but also have some big holes in their roster. Just doesn't make much sense to have two good, starting caliber players at the same position (both of are making starter money I might add). Especially when you have major needs at PG, backup C and one of your stars can play big minutes at SF as well. I'd probably try to shop Battier around just to gauge his value, see if I can get an upgrade at PG (Felton? Billups? Mo Williams? Hinrich?) and maybe add depth. Having gotten rid of Greene and the 09 pick, they're clearly going for it all right now so you can throw the MLE at someone or make multiple smaller signings.</div>

    Alston is a good PG...and imo he's better than hinrich and costs less.............I really see no holes with this team if we sign Landry back and stay healthy..............Deke has still got some juice in the tank, the combo of Dorsey Landry Scola and Hayes will give PFs fits, and Yao TMac and Artest...........................if anything another backup PG would be nice, but Berry, Brooks, and Head won't be bad for stretches.................and Battier and Artest when on the floor at the same time with Tmac will give other teams FITS defensively......

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Not sold on the Lakers? Nevermind the fact that they steam rolled through the Western Conference, that alone should make them favorites out of the west next year. The only team that can give them fits, and did, was and still is Boston, imo.

    For some reason I was thinking the Spurs got Maggette, too much beer maybe, but yeah I think you guys might be better than the Spurs now. The Jazz are a good team and will only get better, I don't know if you top them, yet.</div>

    Nope thank god they didn't get maggete, lol................put the beer down, lol................but the main concerns I have about the Lakers are Gasol and Odom being soft and Odom's inconsistency...........I still think you guys need some more bangers down low especially after losing Turiaf............and we don't know how Bynum will recover...........the Jazz imo will be toast and I hope we play those **** heads in the 1st round again next year....I want them so bad..................bring on mormon inc.!!!!!!

    Bird Rights relate to being able to exceed the salary cap to offer a player any size contract you want.

    Restricted Free Agency is a different animal and would never come into play for someone that has been in the NBA as long as Artest has. Unless you are talking about a player that has been in the NBA 3 seasons or less or is coming off of his rookie first round contract, you can forget about restricted free agency.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Restricted free agency exists only on a limited basis. It is allowed following the fourth year of rookie "scale" contracts for first-round draft picks (see question number 41). It is also allowed for all veteran free agents who have been in the league three or fewer seasons. However, a first round draft pick becomes an unrestricted free agent following his second or third season if his team does not exercise its option to extend the player's rookie scale contract for the next season. All other free agency is limited to unrestricted free agency.</div>

    Well, they actually bring somewhat different talents on the defensive end. Battier is like the quarter back of a defense. Great team and help defender. Always prepared and follows the game plan to a tee. But he can be outmatched physically at time in one-on-one matchups. Artest is possibly the best man defender in the league when he's right. So, in a way, they can actually complement eachother on that end.

    Offensively, they couldn't be any more different. Battier is a very, very good spot up three point shooter, he'll space the floor, but is below average otherwise. Artest is an average 3-point shooter, but he is a good ball handler and passer, a very good post up player, has a good midrange game, and he can create shots off the dribble. Artest is a legitimate "third scorer" for this team -- something we've been desperately needing for a while.

    Agreed, the Lakers choked and got man handled by the Celtics (I knew that was going to happen anyway). Kobe is still looking for that ring post-Shaq "lawl".
