Pudge Rodriguez for Kyle Farnsworth after getting Nady and Marte for average at best prospects?

    Is Cashman drugging people too?

Good move by Cash to sell Farnsy high.

ya i am all for this trade... we trade an upcoming FA in farns ( who is at best streaky ) - i still dont trust him... and we get pudge who is on the down side but he is also an upcoming FA... but he gives us what we need with posada being out the rest of the year...

what if we keep pudge next year (not for 20 million though) and move posada to first? and let giambi walk?

I think they have bigger plans than Pudge/Giambi.

I'm in different at this move considering how well the pitchers like Molina. I think he leads the AL in Catcher's ERA. Pretty impressive considering how bad they have been with Posada.

Glad to get him out of the AL Central. Good pickup by the Yankees.

I agree. Molina has been studly behind the plate. The pitchers, even Moose!, seem to love him. He's one of the best defensive catchers in the game.

Farnsy has been very good this year. I was watching PTI (my mistake), and Mike called Farnsworth "complete garbage". IMO, the Tigers got a good deal for a disgruntled player on the backend of his career.

Is there any chance of letting Giambi (probably a FA type B) and Pudge (probably FA type C, which nets you nothing. Kind of sucks, since Farnsy was probably B) walk , and having either Matsui or Damon play 1st?

    1. Damon 1B L
    2. Jeter SS R
    3. Abreu RF L
    4. A-Rod 3B R
    5. Matsui DH L
    6. Nady LF R
    7. Cano 2B L
    8. Posada C S
    9. Cabrera CF S

Not much power, though :/. Maybe sign Tex, and trade Matsui for prospects?

    That looks damn scary.

This trade seems like a steal to me even though Pudge isn't what he once was. I was pretty excited seeing this on ESPNEWS but i haven't seen them talking about it. Don't know what this means for Posada/Giambi though.

EDIT- Anyone know if this trade is straight up Farns for Pudge or is there something or someone else involved?

I don't see much room for Giambi, with 5 OF, 4 of which have great bats. We probably still start Melky in Center, since Damon's arm is still wimpy. To fit all other 4 in, one would have to move to 1B. I could see Damon making the move there. I'm going to miss the stache.

    All reports are straight up.

Statistically, Farnsy has been our worst reliever. That says something about our BP.

I could see Sanchez being called up in September. That would be awesome. Future Closer [IMG]

I agree with you but man do i hate Melky's offense, he hasn't produced at all this season.

Aside from this, the Manny trade now looks more like a possibility than fantasy with the Marlins talking to the Sox

Melky has been pretty terrible this year, but he's one of three players on this team who can actually bunt on this team (Maybe 3 and half, if you want to say Jeter can bunt).

It's too bad, we haven't gotten too many chances to watch Krazy Kyle punch someone out. I'd love to watch that man in a brawl.

I can honestly see Pudge being the backup. Am I crazy?

Wouldn't he be getting paid to much for a backup? And if Posada is starting then Molina is out and he's been great defensively and has earned his spot on this team IMO. I can see Posada taking over first base and Pudge starting at catcher with Molina as backup.
