It is being reported that the Packers offered Favre $20 million to go away. Let me break this down for them, because I think I can help them. The following are things Im pretty sure of:

#1. If Brett Favre is your starting QB, you will win more
#2 If I am your starting QB, you will win less

so I must ask....What are you willing to pay me to go away??? If you are willing to pay a guy that can win for you that much, Im a guy that cant win for you, so how much should it cost to keep me off your team? By the way, Im willing to do it for half what you offered Brett.....I will keep the phone lines open in case Ted Thompson is trying to get through....

This stubborness by the Packers mgmt has got to the funniest thing I have seen in the NFL in a very long time. They are so worried about Aaron Roger's feelings, that they will pay Favre what could end up being Rogers entire remaining salary just to stick to their plan. You know that they don't believe Rogers is better than Favre. They will pay anything just to keep their authority intact. They have now passed the point of complete rediculousness.

I really think its just the Packers management wanting to move on from the Favre era. They (rightly, wrongly, indifferent) want to make a break. And I know they are getting criticised a lot for it (and some of it is very deserving).

OTOH, if you look at the talent Thompson's assembled and being in a GREAT cap situation, you've got admit he's done a good job. Maybe there is a legitimate reason he is REALLY high on Rodgers. We'll begin to find out this year...
