I don't know anything about the prospects, but I think Jason Bay as an all-around player, is an improvement for Boston. I think they came out on top. They don't have to deal with the Manny headache and I expect Bay to really step in and make an impact.

The Dodgers is the only team to have upgraded talent of the 3 in the trade.

Bay isn't exactly Willie Mays defensively. He'll definitely give a better effort though.

Manny won the Manny trade! Now he's in LA, on a pretty good team, and he doesn't have the pressure of being in Boston any more.

Or, Boston and LA won - Boston got rid of someone who was giving them headaches, and LA got the best player in the deal

I like the Pirates in this deal. They unload a big contract of Bay and build for the future.

Brandon Moss is a 24 year old lefty bat in 103 MLB ABs has a .291 AVG with 2 HRs and 12 RBIs and 10 BB. I think he can be a good player in a few years.

Craig Hansen is a 24 year old relief pitcher who is 1-3 with a 5.58 ERA and 2 Saves in 30.2 innings, 70 innings for his career. He struggles with command having almost 1:1 BB/K ratio this year but the last year he was 1:2 BB/K Ratio.

Andy LaRoche is the brother of pirates 1B Adam LaRoche so its brother to brother at the corners. He is not ready yet, in his MLB career .217 Avg with 3 HR and 16 RBIs in 152 AB.

Bryan Morris is a first round pick of the Dodgers in 2006, he had tommy john surgery but can throw 94 mph.

I think the Dodgers won. They got one of the gamest greatest hitters basically for nothing. To top it off, they even got Boston to take on the rest of his contract for the year. However, didn't they agree to cut the next two option years and Manny is a FA at the end of the season? I've read some reports that Manny really wants to be a Yankee; just to shove it up Boston's ass. Will he want to stay a Dodger, or will he want to go back to an AL team?

The Dodgers gave up two prospects to get one of the best hitters in the game. When they offer Manny arbitration and he declines, they get two draft picks back. How could they not be the winners of this trade?

That's to ensure Scott Boras will be the one earning commission on Manny going forward.
