Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone was interested in the second S2 GM draft for this offseason. Its an S2 run fantasy game where you pick a team then do a fantasy draft, after that you can trade players and then people vote on who the playoff teams should be all the way up to the champions. We're trying to get the remaining spots filled up pretty quick. Warriors are already gone but I guess its irrelevant anyway because you're just gonna draft an entire new roster. Sign ups are here. Thanks.
It's the warriors or nothing I say!!! When I play those basketball video games I pick the Warriors and only the Warriors, but I don't actually draft any current warriors. haha. As the first overall pick in the video game draft, I got this unrealistic lineup which totally kicks ass: C: Dwight Howard PF: Tim Duncan SF: Ricky Davis SG: Paul Pierce PG: Deron Williams PG: Rafer Alston SG: Marko Jaric SF: Mike Miller PF: Hedo Turkoglu C: Nenad Krstic You think that team would win a ring? The computer was stupid. Tim Duncan in the 2nd round, Howard in the 3rd, after I drafted Paul Pierce with the #1 overall pick haha.
My current starting lineup for NBA Live 2008, and I didn't go on a trading spree is: PG: Jason Kidd SG: Ray Allen SF: Ron Artest PF: Chris Kaman C: Yao Ming Bench: Leandro Barbosa I know a couple years back, I was being gay and made a lineup of: PG: Kobe Bryant SG: Tracy McGrady SF: Paul Pierce PF: Kevin Garnett C: Yao Ming After awhile for 2008 I just decided to draft themed teams...like I drafted an all shooting starting lineup: PG: Jamal Crawford (he was the best shooter left on the board sadly enough) SG: Mike Miller SF: Rashard Lewis PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Mehmet Okur Bench: Luther Head, Kyle Korver, Jason Kapono The reason I didn't draft Ray Allen, is because there are fewer shooting big men like Rashard and Dirk so I drafted them first. I thought about Rasheed instead of Rashard, but I hadn't used Rashard yet so why not. I think I might move on to do some trades to upgrade Okur to Rasheed. I really wanted Chauncey instead of Jamal. And that bench is ridiculously shooty. I also drafted a defensive team (with one offensive player so I don't completely shut down on offense to the point where I can't score) PG: TJ Ford SG: Dwayne Wade SF: Josh Smith PF: Andrei Kirilenko C: Chris Bosh I haven't made trades yet, but I want to get Billups and Ron Ron...Could probably do that if I traded a high ranked Wade away... I'm a dork.
To CR2, wtf was up with the comp not picking Howard and him being a 3rd round pick, in 2008 he is a 90 overall and goes in like the first 5-6 picks.
This thread makes me want to go home and play NBA Live. This thread is awesome. I remember one year, I had somewhere along the lines of Melo, Dwight, Okafor, Arenas...and Allen? Idk, something like that. I owned. Oh, and Travis Outlaw and Hakim Warrick coming off the bench. I think Etan Thomas, too. They dunked all over everyone in that game.

My current 2k8 team: Monta/Marcus Williams/CJ Watson S-Jax/Belinelli Mags/AR Wright/Hendrix Beans/Turiaf/Kwame Brown Basically the real W's lineup but I traded Al for Kwame (expiring contract) and Monta, Wright, and AR are beasts because I always develop the hell out of them. I like playing with the real palyers because when you go with those dream team lineups its just too easy to go undefeated and win everything. Plus half the fun is the offseason but when you have all-NBa guys at every position you don't wnat to change the roster much.

But I have the lineup that I have now. And when the season is over, I'm going to sign and trade JKidd away.
I actually like these kind of games, but I don't really have the time or patience to keep up with em nowadays.

The reviews were so bad for pc live 2008, I didn't buy it. Let's just say I love and over-abuse those free style controls and superstar moves. I've essentially figured a way to cheat right back at the computer because they cheat more than any cpu I've seen on superstar mode. I mean, Shaq shoots a game winning 3 pointer after he was contested by both Yao Ming and Rasheed Wallace? Bull#@#%@#%! Shaq ain't even shot a single 3 in his career (I think) and he shoots a triple to win by 1 over 7 foot 6 and 6'11? What math are they using to determine that % shot 1 divided by 1? Plus, the computer double dribbles and basically skates their way to the basket even if you got a guy stationary right in front of him. My defender just slides along with him. Oh don't get me started on over the back no-call fouls on rebounds or how they warp a couple feet ahead and just block your shot or how the ball just magically reverses direction toward the hands of the opposing rebounders. Plus, there's no button for selecting the last defender back, since they probably took that away for a "dunk" + "cheer" button. Oh good grief! Like they needed to make a button for that and take away an important defensive button. It should have been two buttons (dunk + shoot) and if you turbo while shooting near the basket, it equals a layup or a running lane floater. Oh and the big guys are so limited in what they can do with their post footwork... might as well be all guards and abuse the 3 pointer marksman superstar trigger. Bigs are essentially wasted because they take too long to set up and they get called for 3 in the key. Plus, for some reason my guys can't make very good passes or handle the ball to save their lives. So that's when I decide, enough's a enough. I don't quit the game of course, but I turn my sliders all the way up when those computer players are being extra bitches and my own dumbsht teammates are asking for a Sprewell throat massage. Sometimes, I turn the injury sliders all the way up and send my "nba minimum" players to try and hurt the other team's best player. No luck, I always end up breaking some guys arm or leg that's not a star player. No luck on stopping Chauncey Billups and his 60 three point attempts on 60% shooting. Maybe instead of all this b.s. all-star weekend crap and a increasingly annoying franchise mode, they should add an nba brawl and referee gamble mini-game. Like, what if I just can't take these b.s. referee calls anymore or I want to fight with another player? I should be able to start a fight and climb into the bleachers and just start socking those 2d cutouts that are supposed to be fans. I should be able to push another player's legs out from underneath him as he's going for a dunk and cripple his ass. Lastly, a real franchise mode would simulate players getting DUI's, getting tested positive for weed, and getting into fights at strip clubs. NBA Live also claims to capture the signature moves of star players like Kobe Bryant or Vince Carter or whoever. I think they should capture the signature bad moves as well. Like how Troy Hudson can't go left or how Dunleavy Jr. has no lateral movement or how Adonal Foyle is constantly at odds with the rim. Actually, I think that part is already in the game.

In my 2k9 team, I didn't re-sign Baron and let him walk. I signed Deron Williams instead, but he just got injured for the rest of the season. Belinelli keeps on complaining and wants to become a starter.
