There are some very fitting nicknames out there in MMA land (ahem... "...Rampage?"), and some really peculiar ones (Elvis "the King of Rock n' Rumble" Sinosic). Which is your favourite? If it isn't on the list just name it in the thread, I can only make a poll with 20 options.

(I deliberately included good, bad, and obscure names in the list for a laugh)

It's hard to pick just 1.

    I like these 7:
Pitbull for Alves (Alves seems more like a pitbull than Arlovski, although I still like Arlovski)
    Rampage
    Axe Murderer
Dean of Mean sounds cool even though its for Keith Jardine
    Prodigy for Penn
    The Nightmare for DiegoSanchez
Coco the Monkey for Jessie Taylor

lol cat smasher? is that real?

    Some other popular ones:
    Fedor "the last emperor"
    Rand "the natural" couture
    Sean "the muscle shark" sherk
    Anderson "the spider" silva

That only sounds cool because it's for Keith Jardine.

If anyone was rooting for him, it would be really exciting when the ring announcer said it.

I completely lost respect for Renzo after the debacle with Frank Shamrock, but seeing him (and Shogun, and other guys) get a broken limb wasn't cool.

I gotta show support, we were stationed at Fort Riley and we're deployed the same time to Iraq. Don't know him all that well, we knew some of the same people so we all hung out and drank. Seemed like a cool enough guy, funny too

Mad props on him making the cut for Ultimate Fighter 8!!!

Sorry stilll has to be Gracie Hunter

    1 it is true
2 you have to be good to be called Gracie Hunter
3 he actually did beat Gracie's - many of them
4 He actually wanted to fight Gracie after Gracie

    Is Wanderlei an Axe Murderer
    Is Josh Neer a Dentist
Is Ken the worlds most dangerious man

I think due to accuracy Sak wins it

I've always thought that "The Natural" sounded really nice, it has a nice flow too.

Well if you want to get all literal. Sure say Thiago Alves isn't literally a pitbull, but he is powerful and aggressive and it sounds cool.

If you want to say Wanderlei isn't an actual Axe Murderer (he isn't I don't think [IMG]), then Sakuraba isn't a Gracie Hunter, because Hunters actually manage to kill their targets, Sakura has failed every single time to kill a Gracie. lol

Actually if you want semantics, yes he did hunt them down. He stalked in the ring and beat them. Hunting doe snot mean kill in the sense it has many meanings.

So yes he was literally and figuratively a Gracie Hunter

Are you guys really arguing the fine line of nicknames?

IMO, Gracie Hunter is very corny.

Axe Murderer is just fuckin' intimidating. Sandstorm entrance music + Axe Murderer nickname + Wanderlei Silva = me shitting my pants if I were ever in a octagon with him.
