<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'> Jaycee Carroll Waiting on the Nets August 2, 2008, 3:36 am If the Nets are going to carry four rookies–like they did in 2001-02 and 2006-07, the most likely candidate for that fourth position is Jaycee Carroll, who the Nets liked so much they almost traded for a second round pick in the Draft. After solid summer league performances, Carroll says he is “waiting to see if they [the Nets] tell me to go to training camp, or tell me, ‘here’s a contract’.” Local Favorite Tries to Shoot Way Into NBA - Sean Walker - BYU News Net</div>

If his defense is awful, I'd rather have Hodge.</div> I thought that Jaycee did fine at the PG considering he never played it before Orlando and got better by the time they played in Utah. I think he will continue to work hard and be more than capable by the time the season starts. He already looked more comfortable on the floor than Anderson who was playing his normal position. I think Jaycee would be a better pick up than Hodge but time will tell.
Rumor has it that as of today Jaycee Carroll is signing a deal with an Italian league team. He had been waiting on the Nets and was told that they wanted him to go work on his PG skills for a full year elsewhere and that they would invite him back next summer. Too bad this kid isn't a few inches taller and could continue playing the 2 guard like he has his whole life. How must it be to be told that if you want to play at this level you all of a sudden need to completely change your game and vacate the very thing that got you this far? To be asked to be a primary ball handler and assist man, when you are one of the leading scorers in the country and one of the best shooters the college game has ever seen. When you averaged 40 points/game in HS... He must love the game enough to do whatever it takes to live his NBA dream, even if it's just the 15th spot on the bench someday.

The best I can do for now is a link to Utah State's fan board. Jaycee is found in about every other topic in their basketball section/board. I have heard this rumor through people who know him and his family directly as well but, like I said, there is no official release yet.
