Where did you get two posts from? Your argument went on for three pages.

So in the game you say yes, but in "real life" you say... what? That's what I want to know. I don't see why the answers should be different.</div>

If I am forced to make this deal now, then I'd keep Bynum for now, because I already know what I can expect from him. He is a good young player. Oden is kind of a wild card at this juncture...he could come back like RoboCop an annilhilate Bynum to oblivion, OR he could come back and be a let down of expectations. I'd play it safe and keep Bynum.

The last big guy Portland drafted who had this much hype was... Sam Bowie. How'd that turn out?

Actually, you are Kevin Prichard. But OK. You are now Mitch Kupchak. (You just got 90% less cool.) Prichard approached you with this offer and you said no. Your rep is now forever tied to these two players. I think you went the riskier route. (TBC)

If Bynum turns out better, you are a super genius - but if you are wrong, it's a lot easier to justfy making the deal for Oden. Of course in real life it would be the Lakers offering and Pritchard likely laughing.

Exactly how good do you think Oden is going to be?

One player is getting PT in the NBA to the tune of 13 pts/10 rebounds/2 blocks in only 29 minutes. At the same age, Dwight Howard put up 15.8/12.5/1.4 in 37 minutes.

I don't think it's a stretch that Bynum could put up similar numbers to Howard given the same minutes. Or come close to Howard's production now in a couple more years. He's that good.

Is Oden going to be a 20/14/2 kind of player? Are you sure, not having seen him play :01 of actual NBA time?

No way in hell would the Lakers offer Bynum for Oden at this point in time...maybe when Oden shows that he is all he's hyped up to be, then hell yeah, they'd offer, but not right now.

I would take Bynum over Oden every single time. Oden hasn't even proved that he can be a star in this team, he hasn't even played a game yet. Shouldn't be taken until middle 2nd round IMHO.

And I don't like the Lakers by the way so its not like I like Bynum and I'm protecting him. Oden might be good, but MIGHT is the key word. With Bynum we've seen that he can be the top dominant center in the league.

You already know I would own you. On every level. And then stick a pineapple up your ass.

Would is not the subject at hand. My team is dominating yours. "Hey KC, tell me how my ass tastes"

I find this interesting. I'm going to post a poll later about this when I get home. The poll question will be based on the hypothetical, but what I want to ask is a little different than "which is better".

Before the Bulls drafted Tyson Chandler, you might have started a similar poll about Brand (in the Bynum role) and Chandler (in the unknown, never played a game, huge potential Oden role).

It is a projection to say Bynum will get better as he gets older than 20, but there's a someplace to get better from in real NBA production terms.

In the Bulls' case, it was the most stupid thing I could imagine at the time - how can you guarantee that you trade a 20/10 PF for a draft pick PF who may never make 20/10?

I think your poll might have something to do with potential... but i guess we'll wait and see.
Also what do you want to prove by it?

I'd actually like to hear why you guys think both of them are better than Gasol- a guy who led his team to 49 and 50-win seasons in the Western conference when the 2nd and 3rd best players on those teams wouldn't have been taken until the late 3rd, 4th rounds of this type of draft. Granted, he played little defense, but the seasons still speak for themselves.

Wow, KC and I agree on something for a change.

Gasol tends to disappear in the playoffs when the competition gets rough and tough. He's a pussy.

However, if LA had a healthy Bynum in the finals, I believe the outcome would have been quite different.

Chandler was never near Shaq/LeBron/Hakeem no-brainer #1 territory. They don't all pan out, (Ralph Sampson comes to mind) but Oden is in that category.
