He holds most of the top SF's to around their career FG averages or lower, so I'd think it's safe to say he's solid. Great Defender, shut down defender? No, but he doesn't exactly get lit up like a Christmas Tree on D either. I'll take that for everything else he brings to the table.

He used to be, but has regressed into a no defense playing gaylord.
RJ's defense was so horrible that he and the coaching staff were at wit's end with each other. He's not satisfied with being a number two guy anymore, and will quit on the defensive end so he can boost his PPG.
I wanna pick up another 3rd Round pick, will consider all offers, but I want to keep my 3rd Round, 10th pick (obviously). PM offers.

He's on a new team now with a fresh start and a coach that I think will turn the Bucks around. besides, fans of the team a player was on usually turn on that player the minute their gone.. most Nets fans reacted that way, it's common for any team.. so I'll take your opinions with a grain of salt

He didn't even try on defense. He was on Marcus Williams' level. It was that bad. And as for the fans that didn't want him gone, they bitched and complained that he was traded away. Not smart to bank everything on assumptions, either btw - I've learned that from experience.
well that's for this year, I wasn't talking about just this year, he's played for 7 years with the Nets. A new team and new start can change his attitude about Defense and he can still play solid D, like he did when he was interested in playing D. right? I mean he's still in his prime and quite often when good players change teams it rejuvenates them. yes/no?
Well RJ's problem can't be fixed with being "rejuvenated." He just finished a career year offensively. It's more philosophical than anything. He came up in Kidd, Kenyon, and Vince teams and wants his share of the spotlight; can't blame him. Defense doesn't get you shoe deals, scoring and dunking does. If I had a great defensive team but was desperate for scoring, RJ would be a good pick. That being said, you shouldn't be in that position by round 3
Wow! The tone of this draft is much more civil and laid back than the first one. Everyone is so nice and seems to be having fun.

RJ gives me a guy who's been to the finals, Olympics and was an all-star.. works for me for the 59th pick
RJ has not played defense since 2004 and has dedicated himself to being all about RJ. That's a shame, because he was a great team-oriented, hard-working, multi-faceted player with tons of early playoff experience and now he's a clown.
