According to a source, Raiders owner Al Davis persuaded Walker to remain with the team. Walker signed a six-year, $55 million deal with Oakland in the offseason after a trying 2007 marked by a knee injury.</div> I don't really even know what to say.... I suppose all that matters is he didn't and he's still there. Still, that doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in his teammates, no?
Ive said it over and over again, and Im going to say it again....Javon Walker is in trouble....he needs professional intervention before he melts down and kills himself or someone else....hes clearly suffering from severe depression, and hes fighting it like its a physical injury(time will heal it), when its not physical and it wont improve with time....someone needs to get him some help....most of us would be effected the same way if a good friend died of gun shot wounds in our arms....

Hope he ends up fine. Selfishly, as a fan, I would want him to retire and give the money back. It might even be the best thing for him if his heart isn't in playing football and who knows maybe football is contributing to his problems. Word out of Raiders camp is that he isn't looking very good, don't think hes been terrible but it looks like Ronald Curry will be the R's best WR again.
He said that Al Davis talked him out of it? If Walker snaps out of this and has a respectable year, should Davis get partial credit? Al is apparently not angry at Javon, or he would have either moved him or just allowed him to retire. Javon might have a good insurance plan these days. Perhaps he could see a doctor more often. I don't think we need to move him. We know the guy can play, and the season hasn't even started yet. That new Mummy movie looks cool, I can't wait to see it.
