If the move to Brooklyn happens only in 2011, that really lowers our chances to get LeBron, or any other big name FA in 2010. I think we should make a big trade now. How about KVH + Stro + Sean + 2 first rounders for Melo? Keeping Melo in 2010 should be easyer than getting him or Lebron to come here as a FA... Or if LeBron wants to come, we can still let Melo leave... What do you guys think?

Not even close to enough....the only way the Nuggets would do that is if they decide to completely blow the team up and start over, and theres no reason to do that with a young Melo....your suggesting that a team should trade you one of the leagues youngest legitimate stars for 2 expiring deals, a young so-so player, and 2 1st round picks that would be out of the lottery with Melo in NJ....thats essentially something for nothing....

Denver would save a huge amount of cash since they are still over the LTT
Well if hand over 1 of our picks, the Dallas pick, the GS pick and the expiring deals and Sean, thats not that bad of a deal... The Dallas pick wont turn out too badly methinks...
If you were Nuggets fans and that trade went through, what would your reaction be? Would you: a)Open a thread on S2 with the title "WTF WAT JUTS HAPEND??!" b)Break your tv/computer. c)Jump out the window. d)All of the above

But ok, let's make it 3 first rounders: Nets and Dallas unprotected in 2010, and the protected 2011 GS pick. Add Sean to those picks, and the fact that buying out KVH puts them right under the LTT should be enough for Denver.., I'm not saying their fans will like it. But after seeing the Camby trade, I think their management does it.

Yes, the Nuggets wanted to lower the amount of luxury tax that they paid and the front office wanted to trade Camby before he turned back into a pumpkin and started missing games again. Then there is the fact that Camby really wasn't that important to the team winning games. You have completely misread what the Nuggets are doing.

If melo couldn't make a group of JR Smith, AI, Camby, and Kenyon Martin into legitamite Titlee contenders, what makes you think he could do it for the absurdly less-talented Nets? Would just be a waste of money and would hinder our 2010 aspirations to acquire some true difference makers. All that would result would be just another "Big 3" that plays no defense and is trounced by fundamentally sound basketball teams. Besides the trade proposal sucks on the Nuggets end and would never work anyway.

No one knows how much Melo and the Nuggets are capable of because they are held back by their coaching. </div> Well you can't really make an assertion like that if you haven't seen them play without Karl. Actually, if I remember correctly the Nuggets first became a contender back when Karl first started with the team, back when they didn't have players like AI and JR Smith and adopted a defense-first mentality. If anything, the Nuggets team seems to be just another all-flash no substance team. I highly doubt any coach, be him George Karl or someone else, would be able to convince Melo and AI to adopt defense-first mentalities, hence making the Nuggets true contenders. But that's not even what I was talking about?? I'm sure you agree that Melo alone would not be enough to take us over the top and would therefore be a useless aquisition especially with 2010 looming.
