    Alarming Stats Show 63 Percent Of Women Say They Have Been Sexually Harassed

    Nearly 70 Percent Say They Feel Threat Of Sexual Assault
    NEW YORK (AP) ― People who get groped on crowded subway trains will be encouraged to report it as part of an anti-groping campaign being launched by New York City Transit next month.

    The agency expects to distribute 2,000 posters throughout the subway system that tell people who are sexually harassed on trains to report it to an employee or police officer.

    A survey released last year by the Manhattan borough president's office on sexual harassment in the subways found that 63 percent of those responding reported they were harassed in some way, whether it was random groping, lewd comments or unwanted advances. The report was compiled from 1,790 responses collected from New York City straphangers in all five boroughs.

    Attractive is a subject term and hard to quantify in surveys as you are suggesting.

    haha, no no, like your first reaction to this was to assume that a significantly large amount of people would say they got harassed so that people would like them. That just seems interesting.

    Oh! I get what your saying.

    I don't know..I just want to know what kind of women they surveyed. I find it hard to believe that 63% of women are "sexually harassed". Like...what is sexual harassment to them? If it's an ugly girl, and she says she was sexually harassed, does it make her feel a little more pretty because a man sexually did something to her? Even if it was harassment? It is kind of hard for me to explain.

    I mean, I probably sexually harass girls every day just by flirting. If they consider that an unwanted advance, then that is harassment, isn't it?

    Yeah I wouldn't consider that sexual harassment. Maybe some type of verbal abuse if it was an extreme situation.

    Well, my guess sexual harrassment is a loosely defined term in this case. I bet there are some stuck up feminists who would consider themselves sexually harrassed if a guy whistled at them.

    And there are some gay broads who define sexual harassment as a guy looking at them.

    I think this is way to broad of a survey.
