Everyday I read a new article about Chad Henne's camp performance, and every story is about a poised young QB that is closing ground on the two veterans....even the defensive players have been impressed with Henne's swagger....Its early, they havent even played a pre-season game, but is this the beginning of the Chad Henne Era in Miami??

I don't see him as an NFL starter, and if he has to start as a rookie that would be a disaster, IMO.

I think he's very inconsistent and there are a lot of flaws in his mechanics, his decision making is poor to average, and I have seen him choke more times than I can count.

He's a prospect, I suppose, but I'm definitly glad the Giants have the much more constistent, productive and impressive Andre Woodson. He made about a quarter of the stupid plays Henne did over his career, but his delivery is slightly funky so he inexplicably dropped. After watching both of these guys, it makes no sense to me.

I too have heard that Henne is doing well. But, the other 2 would really have to blow chunks for Henne to start in early Sept.

Allegedly, Beck is starting to warm and the initial depth chart released says McCown #1 but Sparano played that off as it was the very 1st one.

What you did in college is largely irrelevant once you get to a pro team....all that matters now, atleast to the Dolphins, is what he does there....if you dont buy that see the careers of Tim Couch, David Carr and Tom Brady....

I know the difference between a dumb QB with inconsistent mechanics and footwork who makes a ton of mistakes and a guy who knows how to run an offense and also has the requisite size and athleticism. The above opinions apply to these guys as pro prospects.

Tuna has said that no rookie should start @ QB. He was referring not only to Beck last yr but overall in the grand scheme of things.

I said last year that Beck would not see playing time unless it was the wheels had fallen off and the season was a complete and total lost cause. Well,...

The only reason Cameron IMO put Beck in was because Green was down and Cleo wasn't making Lemonade.

As a Wildcat fan, I want Andre Woodson to do well, but I think your evaluation might be a bit lofty. Woodson has an elongated throwing motion and we now see where that is getting Byron Leftwich, though Woodson probably has better feet than Leftwich. Woodson did well in running UK's offense, but to say he "knows how to run an offense?" He has a lot of room to improve before he can be successful in the NFL.

I haven't seen enough of Henne to offer an opinion. I'm still holding out hope that John Beck will break out. I really think Beck got a raw deal last year and, from what I have managed to see from his college days, I really liked what I saw. Truth be told, I just want someone to step up and take the job. I'm growing a bit weary of the QB carousel.

I have no idea if Woodson will be a great NFL QB, but what I've seen of him so far leads me to believe he has the instincts and skills to efficiently run an offense. Henne I've seen make mistake after mistake for years. It's like "You've been running this offense forever! Don't you think by now you'd have it down?"

Parcells is one great talent evaluator, so that gave me a little pause. But if I had to bet, I'd still bet on Woodson eventually being an NFL starter over Henne. I watched them both a lot and I still can't believe Henne was the more popular prospect before the draft.

Just for the sake or argument, if we are talking about a QB who knows to run an offense... any offense what about Jason Campbell? He's been in plenty of of them since his sophomore season @ Auburn.

Personally, it would not disappoint me to see Penningtom signed and McCown shown the door. Beck started slow at BYU and then caught. He, too, had 3 different schemes to learn while in college. This is his 2nd while in the NFL.

I'd prefer Beck to be the man but feel its a can't lose situation we he or Henne. So, Dale doesn't need to buy a ticket for 2009 as the carousel will still be fully operational this season I'm afraid.
