Interesting, If Jets were to trade Favre to the Vikings, the Jets would owe the Packers 3 1st Rounders

Well, I never thought I'd see the day, but I'm happy that Favre gets to continue to play if that's what he really wants.

Ted Thompson made the deal as air tight as he possibly could to bulletproof himself and hedge against the epic fail. At minimum he gets a 4th rounder. If Favre continues his iron man ways and plays 50% of the snaps, the Pack gets a 3rd rounder. 70% of snaps and playoffs, a 2nd rounder. Superbowl appearance, 1st rounder. Wow...

And that poison pill...3 first rounders if the Jets trade him into the NFC North? Genius... All the bases are covered.

It also helps that the Packers and Jets won't meet face to face until 2014, barring a Superbowl collision...and the odds of that are astronomical.

History will show whether Thompson is a hero or a goat for doing this, but in the short term it looks like he did absolutely everything in his power to tip the scales toward hero. [IMG]

Im sure the Jets are keeping him, but how hard is it to bring in a 3rd team, move him there and have them move him to the Vikings? I havent read the wording of the deal, but I doubt they covered all contingencies....

I heard from a good source that he was going to the Bucs and he told the Bucs to turn around and trade him right away to Minny. Then this comes down.

No wonder the poison pill was put in the deal.

Everything except giving Favre his starting job back which would have given the Packers a legit shot at the Super Bowl. Instead, he has thrown this year away for a future that may never come. Thompson should be picking up an unemployment check.

Oh, Come now, DD. You should be thrilled. Why?

    1) Madden's perpertual man crush can go on..... at least for another season
    2) Favre found his smile
    3) As a phins fan, you should be ecstatic the jest have 1 less pick.

Me? I'm glad that its 1 less time I have listen to the bleacher bums @ next yrs draft. lol.
