Just saw it on ESPN's bottom ticker. No current link that I can find.

Wait a minute, its 2:52 AM EST. If this just happened after the Farve trade, Pennington could be asleep at training camp right now on Long Island and not know he's been released until he wakes up...

Not surprising at all. I'm sure he'll be a decent backup somewhere. [IMG]

    I'm sure he knows...

This guy can only play for a dome team. If any team that plays in weather picks him up, they are stupid.

I wonder what teams will give him a look?

    Minnesota? Kansas City?

    Funny?

If it were K. Clemens the jest released; I'd say come on down.

Chad needs to go to a team running the WCO or some hybrid thereof.... Bears & Vikes come to mind.
Though, a Pennington/Herm Edwards reunion seems most likely.

FWIW; Pennington has class... Favre could teach Brady Quinn a few things about being a diva.

The thing to remember is last season overshadowed the previous 3 where Favre was, to quote F Caliendo as Barkley, Turribull!

He'll make an excellent backup QB for any team.

Yup, he's an upgrade to Kyle Orton that's for freaking sure.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Miami Dolphins are interested in the New York Jets' soon-to-be-unemployed quarterback, Chad Pennington.

The Dolphins have already contacted Pennington's agent, Tom Condon, a source with knowledge of the call told ESPN.com. The Jets are expected to cut Pennington at 4 p.m. Thursday to clear salary-cap space for Brett Favre.

Pennington was drafted in 2000 by Dolphins football operations boss Bill Parcells with the 18th overall pick.</div>

Seeing as how I have small knowledge of football, why didn't Pennington work out for the Jets? Was he starting material?

His arm is held together by dental floss and rubber bands.

Injuries pretty much killed his career, his arm was never the same after all those surgeries.

Well he was a first round pick (18th overall), so they were hoping he would have been a solid starter for years. Unfortunately, he became plagued with injuries which screwed up his arm even more (it was already weak).

He had absolutely no velocity on his throws after the injury (not sure how it was before).

He was more of a tease than anything.

He showed glimpses playing behind Testaverde and when he finally got the starting job, he had one great year and then he got hurt.

Average Velocity before the injury, but good accuracy which made up for it
