<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Vince Carter was not surprised by any of the moves that the New Jersey Nets made since the 2007-08 season closed but maintained he still wants to be part of the team's future, the New York Daily News is reporting. "I've never questioned what they're doing, and I definitely want to be here," Carter said. "It's the way it goes. It's the business of basketball." Carter, who averaged 21.3 points per game last season, played through 2007-08 with an ankle injury, but after off-season surgery Carter says he is now healthy and ready to go.</div> Source
God bless that man lol. I feel so bad for him. Hopefully he handles this whole situation with a bit more class than JKidd even if he does eventually decide that he wants out. I really like Vince and it would be a shame if a divorce from the Nets ended on a sour note.
After reading this there are two ways you can take this. 1- What a nice gesture by a good guy!! 2- Then you can take the -- "You play to win the game". Does this guy really want to win a championship? Anyone in his caliber should be trying to obtain the ultimate prize - a championship. That is the goal. This team is not close to that. I really doubt VC will ask for a trade. I think he will be comfortable with a mediocre season. They cant blame him. Asking to be traded might be selfish but it also shows your passion to win. F how people think about you. I want to win.
OR... "Man, it's okay, only two more years till LeBron" .... "I want to be here, I want to be a Net!"

He doesn't wanna get traded to a team that won't make it anywhere out of the first round of playoffs, a la Jason Kidd, and look like a moron... so he's just sticking with this team until they get it together.

With the hopes of something better next season.
6. He has a good season, is voted into the all star game, but decides to be on the bench instead of a starter, to give his spot to Michael Jordan.
11. He loves his new Chinese Sneakers and ads. "wo men ai VC! VC ai ta de xie!" Translation : "We love VC, VC loves his shoes"
I think he answered the question about playing for a championship honestly although he feels very comfortable here. We stepped up and proved just how much we want him here last summer and I think that meant alot to him as he saw how other teams viewed his worth. Here he's the man, and you can almost feel how he's welcoming the challenge and genuinely excited to do so. Kidd and RJ were good players but you know that had to be one annoying tension filled locker room to have to wake up and drive to every day. Now we have a bunch of good young kids who are hungry and will listen to his every word and vet backups who bring a newfound competitiveness to our locker room. Factor in having a coach who loves him more than just about anybody and he's got a pretty nice situation here. The wins might not come right away, if at all, but I bet he comes in every day and tries his hardest to help this team in any way we ask.
