What are some bands that just drive you up the wall and make you wonder "How did they ever get a recording contract?"

    Too easy.

Nickelback. Every song sounds pretty much the same. And they all suck.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I like Oh What A Night, probably because Frankie doesn't sing very much on it, not so fond of the others. I love a good falsetto, not Frankie's screech.

I read on some amateur blog that the Jonas Brothers could end up being the greatest band to ever come out of New Jersey. I proceeded to throw up in my mouth.

I second Nickelback and U2. I (thankfully) hardly know what the Jonas Brothers are.

Dave Matthews is high up on my hate list too.

Erasure is utterly brilliant. Won't argue with the others though.

I don't care for most of the bands that have been mentioned in this thread. Although every once in a while I'll hear a nice single from these groups as well.

Devendra Banhart, total wanker. Oh and vampire weekend, what kind of fukin name is that for a band, what a bunch of spoiled little brats, Anything that is classified as "Indie" is just some whining, no-talent, suburban white kids who want to look cool by being in a band. just utter fukin trash, worse than emo, thats right i said it, worse than emo. who else, panic at the disco, your right, they are trash, no talent there, P.Diddy, i cant stand pdiddy he's so up himself yet so gay looking. Pussycat dolls, trash, man i cant think of anymore, but there are so many, so much shit out there today. its depressing.

I'm not necessarily saying that they aren't entertaining or anything, but as far as musical ability goes, how in the hell did Fall Out Boy become so popular?

you might as well just repeat this with about 90% of the bands that are really popular today.
