Sweet holy crap. NO!!!!!!!!!!! rofl As was pointed out on the phins only site I visit, it was the occasional home run from Chad to Coles or McCariens that always sunk Miami when playing the jest. I actually like the move. I was not crazy about Trent Green or McCown. Not only does Chad reunite w/ Tuna but Dan Henning (the phins OC) as well. Finally, I'd like to thank Brett Favre for being such a diva allowing this transaction to occur.
Noodlearm - rotator cuff injury Some don't return after an injury like that. Loss in velocity seems expected.

Lets not forget Steve Smith did okay in Carolina w/ Henning calling the shots. Its not like Mularkey, Cameron, or Gary Stevens is calling the plays Ronnie B is a decent pass catching which could free up Ted to run free ala Wally West.

One thing about Pennington: Despite his noodle arm, he is efficient....his effeciency ratings are well above what the Dolphins have dealt with since Marino retired....I hope this means McCown ends up on the street and not Beck....

Pennington doesn't have much of an arm anymore (did he ever?), that's true, but yes...he can be an efficient QB in the right system. I liken him to Rich Gannon in Gannon's last few seasons. He's a smart, veteran guy who will do the best he can with the ability that he has and he'll find a way to get it done. All of this, despite a lack of "wow" in the physical skills department. Looking at the other options the Dolphins have, I think this was a pretty good move. I'm really surprised the Bears didn't jump on him.
I like the analogy. This is the best the phins QB situation has been in some time & the best I've felt in years about it in years. Its amazing how many phins fans are still looking at the QB situation as a glass damn near empty. Its been 24 yrs since Miami hgas a a good young QB now they they have the luxury of having 2. Whoever performs worse; McCown or Beck is gone. Though, Its hard to judge Beck adequately given the sh**storm he was thrown in to last year. That IMO is McCown. Beck has more invested in him and more upside. Subjectively, I'd prefer Beck. If Henne turns out to be Dan's long awaited heir then I am more than fine with that. All I know is that QB carousel is slowly winding down which is good as I'm almost outta dramamine.
The one thing I don't understand is how there is a decision about who to cut. John Beck is a younger QB than McCown and seems to have the bigger upside. The Phins spent a 2nd on Beck the year before. McCown has been in the league 6 years compared to 1 for Beck yet hasn't really outplayed Beck, so saying bye bye to McCown seems to be a no brainer.
McCown IMO is the odd man out. I don't believe Sparano when he says they'll keep 4 QB's. Alot of so called fans on the phins site I frequent calling for Beck to go.
