Does anybody think this is true? Both play for historic teams with pretty big fanbases. And Rodgers, like Eli, is facing a ridiculous amount of scrutiny early in his career for reasons beyond his control. Manning had to deal with an overbearing NY media that just never lets up. Rodgers is going to be the hated figure who has to deal with the repercussions of the Favre drama. Both players are talented and I feel, like I did with Eli, that Aaron could develop and become a solid QB so much easier in a different location. Eli was able to tough it out and put it all together this past season. I'm rooting for Rodgers to do the same thing.
I see little to no similarities....one is replacing a legend, the other replaced no one....one was picked 1st, the other at the bottom of the 1st round....one plays in the smallest media market, the other the largest....one has a chanpionship, the other has done nothing....one played early, the other didnt....one is a from the most successful QB family in league history(the Mannings), the other is from the least successful QB family in league history(the Tedfords)....im sorry,I just see completely different paths and completely different careers....Rodgers has a lot more in common with Brian Griese and Jay Fiedler....
I like comparing Rogers to Alex Smith. Rogers has always seems like the better player to me, and he was drafted after Smith. Let's pretend that the 49ers drafted Rogers (like they should have), and the Packers draft Alex Smith. Given the rest of the QB's on thier roster, would Green Bay have kicked Jet Favre to the curb when he unretired this Summer?

I thought you meant they are the same because Aaron started to wear his chin strap really ****ing tight.
The only thing they have in common is they were both 1st round picks. I don't think the Green Bay media is going to criticize Rodgers like the New York media did to Manning and well everyone else. I also think Packer fans have embraced Rodgers as their starter right now. With that said if Rodgers fails he'll go down in history as one of the biggest busts ever just because of the pressure he's under and the attention he is going to receive.
